Inside Line Promotions – CONCORD, N.C. (Nov. 10, 2015) – The Bad Boy Buggies World of Outlaws World Finals didn’t go as planned for Big Game Motorsports and Danny Lasoski, who wrapped up a successful season last weekend during the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series event at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.
“It wasn’t the way we anticipated it going, but in auto racing sometimes you have that,” Lasoski said. “All in all it won’t overshadow the success we’ve had this year. I’m just very grateful for the opportunity to drive for such a great and hard working team.”
The marquee event kicked off last Thursday with the Muddy backed team qualifying 13th quickest for Friday’s program and sixth for Saturday’s event, which was postponed a day because of weather.
“In the first session we were way too tight in qualifying,” he said. “We just couldn’t turn the car. In the second time we were in the ball game.”
The team returned to the 4/10-mile oval on Friday with Lasoski advancing from fifth to fourth place in a heat race, which missed locking into the feature by only one position. He then rallied from ninth to sixth in the Last Chance Showdown to garner the final transfer into the 25-lap feature, which the Muddy sponsored team started on the outside of the 12th row.
“Our car wasn’t performing the way we wanted and another car got into us,” he said. “Instead of wrecking and knocking the fence down we decided to pull in early.”
Lasoski pulled into the pits midway through the feature and he was credited with a 27th-place result.
The weekend wrapped up on Sunday with Lasoski holding off World of Outlaws champion Donny Schatz to claim a heat race win.
“Anytime you can beat him it’s great,” Lasoski said. “We thought we had something going. Then we ran respectable in the dash.”
Lasoski placed fifth in the dash to start the feature on the inside of the third row.
“We’ve had a problem going forward the last few times out once the track gets slick,” he said. “I’ve seen a lot of guys miss it when the track got slick. If you miss it a little it shows up really bad. We just didn’t have everything working well, but we’re not going to hold our heads down.”
Lasoski posted a 12th-place result to cap the season for the Muddy backed team, which earned 13 wins, 40 top fives and 49 top 10s in 57 races.
