He makes the long pull to Muskogee every week from Yukon to not only race, but enjoy the time with his friends at the track. And when the track was being reborn by the hands of Randy Gass, Brandon would make trips to Thunderbird to help clean up. He remembers using chainsaws and brush hogs to clear the pit area and under the bleachers. “I was so sore, The track has come a long way since the first time I was here.” “I think Gass has done a really good job.” Brandon said.
Although racing cars is just a hobby, Brandon has raced competitively on jet skis . He traveled a to Texas to run buoy courses. Brandon started racing cars in enduro races, touring the state and neighboring states. After a few races a conversation started one night and that’s when an idea blossomed to step it up into full time racing. In 2015 he would buy a car and take it to Outlaw Motor Speedway to run his first race, “I demolished that car, Then I bought a car from guys in Enid, and I demolished that”.
Although beginning has been tough Brandon has decided to keep it up and feel the reward for being in the seat of a race car.“We’re hooked, We just love it, it’s a rush”
Brandon just celebrated his 25 wedding anniversary and has two daughters. When Hes not racing he like to take the family to Eufala Lake and just hang out. During the winter he likes to attend as many Thunder Basketball games as he can.
“Im just a big gamer!”, Brandon said. “Call of Duty every night, I’ll give it one or two hours”.
He is really into PlayStation and gives a good practice anytime he gets a chance.
Brandon had plenty of good things to say about the track and really enjoys the hotdog that come from the pit side grill. “I don’t know what it is, they’re cooked perfect”.
Ironically Brandon is currently 7th in the points, with 7 top ten finishes this year. He said he loves this sport and will continue to race as long as he can.
