With an early start in racing in 2004, Lacy hasn’t always been racing. Starting with yard karts in 2004 lacy would eventually get into racing go karts. He took some time off to play high school sports, before buying his first stock car in 2014. South Coffeeville Speedway holds the first win of the young man’s career in June of 2015. “From then on it started pilling on” Brennon said. In 2017 he had 6 wins at Salina Highbanks Speedway, and was in the running for the UNOH youth achievement award.
You can tell the racing gene runs deep in the Lacy family, “The horse power step, I thought that stock car was fast, then I stepped into this B-Mod”. Brennon’s favorite race track food, “Grilling steak at the IMCA Super Nationals”. Kevin, Brennon’s Father, raced side by side with his son in many a features over the last few years. At times the two would get out of their cars with nothing but smiles.
Lacy has just started his career in racing, and with a new B-Mod to sit in, he’s only looking for a few more good races before he takes a step toward the future. Brennon plans on attending college in the fall at UCO. “I’m going for something completely different than I ever thought, Golf Course Management”. Brennon works at Lit’l Links Golf Club as a Junior Camp Coach. He’s looking to make a career and take it as far as he can.
“Plan is to try to hit up a track every few weekends, maybe Lucas, Humbolt, Lakside”. Brennon wont be to far from a track during his stay on campus. He plans on trying to make some of the bigger tracks with a few weekends a year until thing settle down and he gets more time. But for now, the 18 year old will make the best of the family time he gets at the track. Your driver of the week, Brennon Lacy.
