The heat was on at Dirt’s Monster Half Mile on Saturday night for the Inaugural Dow Carnahan Fantasy Cup for the Falconi’s Moon Township Automotive 410 Winged Sprint Car Series. PPMS would see qualifying, nine heat races, and six feature events. Mark Smith (M1), from Sunbury, made a late-race pass to steal the win in the Falconi’s Moon Township Automotive 410 Winged Sprint Car feature. Daryl Charlier (42), from Midway, won the Rohrich Automotive/Chevy Performance RUSH Late model feature for the second week in a row while Nick Kocuba (10), from Burgettstown, got his first win of the season in the Pittsburgh Trucking Center Penn Ohio Pro Stock feature. Gavin Kokolis (91), from Oakdale, picked up another win for the All Ways Safe Flagging And Traffic Control Young Guns, while Bill Tennant (187), from Colliers, West Virginia, picked up another win in the Crawford Auto Repair Four Cylinder feature, and Logan Koteles (64K), from Stockdale, picked up win number five on the season for the Fuel Required Hobby Stocks.

22 410 Winged Sprint Cars would battle it out for the PPMS portion of the Inaugural Dow Carnahan Fantasy Cup and in the 20-lap feature, Mark Smith (M1), would start on the pole. Starting to his outside was Carl Bowser (11), from Butler, while Jeremy Weaver (5W), from Harrisville, started in third, and David Kalb (11J), from Aurora, Ohio, started in fourth. When the green flag dropped, Bowser (11) had the lead on lap one. However, Weaver (5W) would take over the lead on lap two. By lap five, the front runners were already into lapped traffic which allowed Bowser (11) to retake the lead as Weaver (5W) got slowed up by a lapped car. On lap nine and with Bowser (11) still leading, Smith (M1) moved into second place behind the leader. With two laps to go, Bowser (11) and Smith (M1) would bump tires as they took the white flag and Smith (M1) took the lead shortly after, and Smith (M1) would go on to pick up the win. Bowser (11) finished second, AJ Flick (2) finished third, Weaver (5W) finished fourth, and Kalb (11J) rounded out the top five. The heat race winners were AJ Flick (2) and Adam Kekich (5).

In the Pittsburgh Trucking Center Penn Ohio Pro Stock 15-lap feature, Nick Kocuba (10) would start on the pole with Jackson Billyk (5), from New Castle to his outside in second. When the green flag dropped, Kocuba (10) would take the early lead. The event would go green to checkered in record fashion with Kocuba (10) leading all laps to pick up the win. He was followed by AJ Poljak (36) finished second, Stephen Shelpman (17S) finished third, Jackson Bilyk (5) finished fourth, and Larry Kugel (0) rounded out the top five. The heat race winner was Shelpman (17S)

Kassidy Kamicker (72B), from Aliquippa, would start on the pole in the 20-lap Rohrich Automotive/Chevy Performance RUSH Late Model feature. Tom Klein (77), from Rochester, would start to her outside in second and when the green flag waved, he would take the early lead. Lap three saw the event’s first caution and when green replaced yellow, Klein (77) would retain his lead over the field. Two more cautions would come with the second one being on lap eight and this time, Zach Gunn (17G) would take over the lead when the field returned to green flag conditions. For the next few laps, Ben Policz (14B) would put pressure on Z. Gunn (17G) for the lead but Z. Gunn (17G) would keep it for the time being. Again, two more cautions would come with the second one being on lap 14, and on the restart, Charlier (42) would take over the lead. He would lead the remaining six laps in the event and go on to back-to-back wins. He was followed by Lincoln Smith (31) finished second, Joe Martin (10S) finished third, Policz (14B) finished fourth, and Jim Rasey (21J) rounded out the top five. The heat race winners were Frank Magill (05), Ben Policz (14B), and Cole Petrelle (184).

In the All Ways Safe Flagging And Traffic Control Young Guns eight-lap feature, Travis Clark (56), from Midland, started on the pole. Starting to his outside was Anthony Uddstrom (18), from Pittsburgh. When the green flag dropped, Clark (56) had the early lead. However, Uddstrom (18) took over the lead on lap three. Clark (56) would retake the lead on lap five and then on lap seven, the event’s only caution would slow the pace, and track officials determined that Uddstrom made contact with the car that spun and was DQed. This gave the lead on the restart to Kokolis (91) who used it to his advantage to score another All Ways Safe Flagging And Traffic Control Young Guns win. He was followed by Nathan Olenik (99) in second, Kane Zupancic (11) in third, Cheyenne Hollister (29M) in fourth, and Clark (56) rounded out the top five. The heat race winner was AJ Manganello.

Bill Tennant (2) started on the pole for the eight-lap Crawford Auto Repair Open Four Cylinder feature while Cameron Hollister (44), from McDonald, started to his outside in second. When the green flag waved, Tennant (2) would jump out to the early lead. Despite a caution on lap six, Tennant (2) would lead all laps of the event and go on to pick up another Crawford Auto Repair Open Four Cylinder win. He was followed by C. Hollister (44) in second, Susie Rudolph (55) in third, Ben Gariglio (83) in fourth, and Tyler Hollister (69) completed the top five. The heat race winner was Tennant (2).

In the Fuel Required Hobby Stock 15-lap feature, Leroy Brown (40B), from Aliquippa, would start on the pole with Logan Koteles (64K) to his outside starting second. When the green flag dropped, Brown (40B) would take the early lead. A lap four caution would slow the pace and rerack the field. When green replaced yellow, L. Koteles (64K) would take over the lead. L. Koteles (64K) was on a rail and despite a lap 13 caution, he would lead the remaining laps in the event and go on to pick up win number five on the season. He was followed by Brown (40B) in second, Jonathan Koteles (2K) in third, Garrett O’Patchen (25) in fourth, and Marc Corio (14) rounded out the top five. The heat race winner was Garrett O’Patchen (25).
