Top-5 finish in Mark Balzano Memorial at WVMS
Friday night found Jim Bernheisel in action at West Virginia Motor Speedway (Mineral Wells, W.Va.) for the Mark Balzano Memorial. In a field of 14 cars, Jim secured his spot into the $10,000-to-win A-Main with a second-place finish in his heat, which came behind Ryan Montgomery. Dropping one spot in the 30-lapper, Bernheisel notched a fifth-place finish. He followed Devin Moran, Colten Burdette, Ryan Montgomery, and Rod Conley across the line. (Zach Yost photo)
For the regular night of racing on Saturday evening at Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.), Bernheisel posted a fifth-place finish in his heat aboard the Denny Superko-owned No. 31 Late Model, which positioned him 13th on the starting grid for the main event. With $3,000 on the line, Jim improved one spot to finish 12th.
