Weekly Racing Action At 81 Speedway

Weekly Championship Points Series racing was center stage Saturday night at the ? mile speed factory in Park City, KS.

75 cars checked in over 4 divisions for racing action. Heyglassman.com Stock Cars were back after last week's Stock Car Extravaganza and they were set to go, 23 stock cars were checked in for the night, setting up 3 heat races. Out of towner and hot shoe Boone Evans started off the night with a heat race win, Jayce Reimer and Scott Squier also took the checkered flag in heats 2 and 3, setting themselves up for a spot in the Top 6 redraw for the A Feature. The redraw was good to the 945 of Squier as he would lead the 23 car pack to the Carr's Plumbing Green Flag for 15 laps around the speedway, the lead would exchange hands during the feature and when the dust settled, the $3,000 man and reigning track champion, Clint Smith found himself back in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Victory Lane for the 2nd time in 2023 and added to his points lead as he chases his 4th track championship at 81 Speedway. Beau Davis, Kyler Kemp, Jayce Reimer and Boone Evans were the top 5. Hard Charger on the night, Aaron Esparza was plus 11 to come home 6th.

Autotech Service Super Stocks had 14 checked in setting up for 2 heat races. The heat races belonged to the Chris's. Chris Purkey and Chris Pitts both would start on the pole of heat's 1 & 2 and capture checkered flags. When it was time for the A Feature, Jerrod Reimer and Robert Lamb would lead the Super Stocks to the Green Flag, Reimer would take control from the start and the field would begin chase, racing action came to a Central Spray Foam and Cement Lifting Red Flag as Jerry Richey in the 311 would blow a right rear tire entering turn 1 and collect Robert Lamb, David Blocker and Tim Ozbun. We are happy to report that all drivers were ok after that wreck but unfortunately all 4 cars sustained race ending damage. When the field resumed racing, Chris Pitts would give the hardest challenge to the leader Reimer in the 75, Reimer would change racing lanes to defend and lead it all the way to the When Pigs Fly Checkered Flag. Chris Pitts, points leader JD Eveland, Chris Purkey and Hard Charger plus 9 for Rickey Bonham in 5th.

BSB Manufacturing USRA B Mods were 18 entries strong for track points and national USRA point action Saturday night. 2 heat races for the night, Jacob Hodges had to borrow brother Andrew's 21A after his primary car was damaged at Humboldt the night before and started the night off with a checkered flag. Reece Solander picked up heat #2 victory after a plus 4 hard charge from Tyler Kidwell. A Feature action was fierce and fast as Jacob Ellison and Mark Smith would battle side by side for the top spot while Tyler Kidwell and Reece Solander argued over 2nd and 3rd. Mark Smith would suffer a flat left rear and force a Hoover Mower Sales caution flag just 3 laps in. Ellison would take control of the Delaware Double restart and racing was underway, Kidwell and Solander would quickly race by Ellison and battle over the lead, Solander would eventually take control and drive away to pick up win #2 on the weekend. Jacob Ellison, Tyler Kidwell, Henry Chambers and Clint McFadden drives plus 10 to round out the top 5.

To round out the night, Alternative Pest Management USRA Modifieds had 20 of the baddest USRA modifieds on the planet in the pit area. 3 heat races to setup the A Feature. Tyler Davis, Kenton Allen and Ryan McAninch visited the winner's circle for a good start to the evening. When the A Feature rolled out 2 by 2, 10 deep for 20 laps, Flyin Ryan McAninch was on the pole and took an early lead, the yellow flag would fly before a lap was in the books and 4 attempts would be the magic number to get the race underway. Tyler Davis would set sail while Wyatt Gaggero, Ryan McAninch, Gabe Hodges and Chevy Coleman gave chase. At the end of 20 Laps, Tyler Davis parked the 65 in Victory Lane for win #8 on the 2023 season. Wyatt Gaggero, Ryan McAninch, 2023 Humboldt Speedway ARMI Contracting USRA Modified Track Champion Paden Phillips and Gabe Hodges were the night's top 5. Chevy Coleman was the Hard Charger plus 9 to finish 7th.
