Destination Danville, Illinois for MOWA on Sunday!

(Bill W) April 16, 2013 – After a scintillating start to the season last weekend and 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa, the Midwest Open Wheel Association will head to the Vermilion County Speedway in Danville, Illinois this Sunday night, April 21. This will mark the second appearance of the MOWA series in Danville. It will be half of the “Midwest Open Wheel Showdown”, which also features 410 non-wing sprints!

Two-time and defending series’ champion, Jerrod Hull, was the winner at the facility last July, and is intent on repeating that feat Sunday. Hull’s win last year came over Korey Weyant, Critter Malone, Jimmy Hurley and Ben Wagoner.

Last Saturday’s event saw the first Aussie winner in MOWA series history. Ian Madsen produced a clean sweep of the night’s events, but it wasn’t easy. Terry McCarl, starting at the tail of the field charged to a second place finish after threatening late for the lead. Lucas Wolfe was third, and also came from the tail after repairing a flat tire. AJ Bruns was fourth, ahead of Wagoner.

This will mark the first of two MOWA trips to Danville. They will return on Saturday, August 4.
