All Coast Challenge Money On The Line Saturday Night
(Oxnard, CA. Cliff Morgan, 7-16-12)This Saturday night July 21, 2012 the second All Coast Challenge Race for VRA 360 Sprint Cars will take place at Ventura Raceway's Ventura County Fairgrounds track. On that night the best sprint car drivers in Southern California will compete for a $2,500 to win and $400 to start purse. Twenty cars will start the 30 lap main event with the winner taking home $2,500, second place will get $1,200 and third place will receive $1,000. This race is part of a series within a series that is set for 3 races during the season. The first race on March 10 went to visiting USAC/CRA driver Mike Spencer over Troy Rutherford, Danny Faria Jr., Matt Mitchell and Cory Kruseman. Most of these drivers are expected to be there Saturday night to see who will lead the points going into the final All Coast race to be held on November 10, when we will crown the 2012 All Coast Challenge Champion. Ventura Raceway and all the VRA drivers and crews want to give a special thanks to Mike Grosswendt of All Coast Construction for sponsoring this event and series.
Also on tap Saturday night will be IMCA Modifieds, led by point leader Jack Parker, VRA Sport Compacts led by their point leader Jess Carlucci, VRA Focus Midgets led by Parker Colston and our new Quad class all racing on Ventura's 1/5 mile dirt oval.
Visiting sprint car drivers wishing to compete, who are not VRA members, may compete in the sprint car portion of the night by purchasing a Single Event License (SEL) in the amount of $50 on race day. They will also have to pay a $45.00 pit pass, a $20 car entry and a $20 car registration in order to compete. All cars must run the track approved Hoosier 105x16x15 Medium compound tire on the right rear, any Hoosier on the left rear and two front tires. The right rear is the same tire run in ASCS 360 competition. All cars must run a VRA approved muffler as listed in the VRA Rulebook that can be seen at venturaraceway.com. All seat belts must be within 2 years and must have date tags attached. Any belts without tags will not be allowed. Helmets must be Snell rated 2005 and newer with stickers. All cars must run 17/8" restrictors in injection stacks even if the cars are running ASCS heads. We require transponders on all sprint cars. If you do not have one, one can be rented for the night at the track. One way radios are also required on all cars but are not rented at the track.
