'Big Daddy' Steve Magyar Scores the Tammy Clegg Tribute Race; Garrett Continues Hot Streak
The Tyler County Speedway welcomed lots of families to America’s Baddest Bullring on Saturday Night for Monster Truck Mania. While the kids were treated to Monster Truck Rides, Powerwheels Races, Car Crushing action and more the action on the racetrack was fast and furious as only America’s Baddest Bullring can offer. Picking up wins were Steve Magyar, Pat Garrett, Noah Bubeck, Donnie Wamsley, Cruz Thomas, Bryson Long and Gavin Casto.
The highlighted race of the night was the traditional Tammy Clegg Tribute in the J&L Collision Center Hotmod division. Twenty one participants would take to the high banks but it was all ‘Big Daddy’ Steve Magyar sweeping the night as the likeable Wileyville, WV racer would set fast time, grab the heat win and blister the field in the feature. A great race long battle behind the leader between several racers would have the crowd on the edge of their seat. Following Magyar across the line were Eddie Probst, Danny Thomas, Brian Probst and Daniel Muldrew. Magyar would pick up his first win of the season aboard the Traymark LLC/ Beaty’s Auto Glass/ Cam Safety/ D&S Auto & Truck Repair/ Performance Plus Antills Enterprises/ Schreff’s Hometown BBQ/ Conjured Arts/ Headley’s Meats/ Autozone/ Letter RIP Vinyl Graphics Bandit Chassis.
When your hot your hot and Reno, Ohio’s Pat Garrett would continue his hot streak in the Mid-Ohio Valley by picking up his 3rd Middlebourne Galaxy Food Center Sportmod A-Main. Vaulting from his 3rd starting spot Garrett would blast to the point by the end of the first marker and point his #3 machine straight to the EQT Victory Lane. Following Garrett to the pay window was newcome Kyle Payne, Wesley Reed, Lance Weppler and a fine run by Josalyn Hibbard.
In the Dual Threat Sports Cards SCDRA 4 Cylinder feature event it was Noah Bubeck driving the B&J Performance #187 holding off defending track champion Jacob McDaniel to collect the win. The win was Bubeck’s second of the season and the youngster would take the checkered flag ahead of McDaniel, point leader Travis Corbin, Jason Frazier and Mitch Eddy.
The young racers of the Hino Motors Manufacturing USA Mini Wedges would kick off the show with a trio of feature events. In the Senior division it was Gavin Casto besting Jake Casto and Kyndi Glover. A pair of Junior division shows would see Cruz Thomas getting the best of brother Coen Thomas and Kamdin Bryan. In the second Junior feature it was Bryson Long finishing ahead of Colten Long and Kristoff Kieper.
The always entertaining Enduro class would finish off Monster Truck Mania with the ‘Clunker Classic’. Picking up the win in dominating fashion was former 4 cylinder ace and multi-time track champion Donnie Wamsley of Clarksburg, WV. Taking the checkered flag behind Wamsley was Joseph Taylor, Bobby Boggs, Kordale Travis and Kyle McFadden.
