34 Raceway
April 28, 2020 COVID-19 Update
Good day race fans!
As of yesterday, April 27, 2020 Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds announced that 77 counties in the state of Iowa could re-open on a limited basis (including racetracks). With that being said, Des Moines County which is where 34 Raceway is located, remains closed through May 15th, 2020. That means events for Saturday, May 2nd (101.7 the Bull Night) and Saturday, May 9th (Casebine Credit Union Night) have both been canceled at this time. We will plan on racing on Saturday, May 16th if fan restrictions are lessened or removed. Our schedule is going to have to change some so please be patient with us as we work through what that is going to look like. We know our drivers would like us to reschedule every night but the reality is, the longer this goes on, the harder is gets.
What does racing look like for the remainder of the season? Tracks are going to have to schedule over events at other tracks within a close radius. Tracks with major sponsorship backing and support will be able to run without fans in the stands and can swing doing it via Pay Per View only. When we can run, tracks are going to be fighting for fans and splitting cars. We know that and are facing that reality more and more as this continues to be extended. The best we can say is we will do the best we can with the hand we've been dealt this season and hope to see all of our faithful fans, drivers and crews in the near future. Stay up to date with our schedule on Facebook or at 34raceway.com as we make updates in the days to come. Be well & be safe!
