Inside Line Promotions – URBANA, Ill. (April 2, 2019) – Kyle Schuett’s dream of becoming a sprint car driver has reached reality as his debut is slated for this weekend.

Schuett is scheduled to compete on Friday at Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Ill., and on Saturday at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa, with the Built Ford Tough MOWA Sprint Car Series.

“Honestly, I’m keeping it lowkey to start,” he said. “I don’t have huge expectations. I don’t know what’s going to happen. We could run well or not run well. My biggest goal is to run all of the laps. I want to be on the track as much as I can. It might go better than what we think, but right now the goal is to make laps and finish.”

Schuett recently ventured to a pair of practice nights to become better acquainted with his winged sprint car prior to his debut. He’s hopeful the transition will be similar to when he began racing midgets.

“We made our first four or five A Mains so we adapted pretty quickly to those,” he said. “We’re hoping we adapt quickly to this and have some of the same success if not more.”

The first track is one where Schuett has raced before while Saturday will mark his first-ever visit to 34 Raceway.

“I’ve ran at Jacksonville for years in micros and midgets,” he said. “I had a POWRi midget podium there in 2015. I’ve never been to 34 Raceway so that will be brand new to me.”

Schuett noted that the main objective throughout his rookie season will be to learn.

“I want to be able to feel like I know what I’m doing and to contend every night,” he said. “We’ll start out small now. That will come later. I don’t want to shoot too high now. Making laps at first, but we have good equipment under us. We’re capable of doing it down the road. It will just come with time.”
