Inside Line Promotions – STILLWATER, Okla. (April 3, 2018) – Zane Hendricks is eagerly anticipating his sprint car debut this weekend with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour presented by SawBlade.com.

The current USAC P1 Insurance National Midgets series driver for Tucker-Boat Motorsports will race a sprint car for Brad Loyet at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas, on Friday and Saturday during the Tony Stewart Presents the Vankor Texas Sprint Car Nationals.

“I’m really looking forward to it,” he said. “I’m a little bit anxious, not just because this is something new for me, but also because I haven’t been in a race car for about a month. I’m looking forward to returning to the track. I don’t feel nervous, except maybe about the weather. I hope we’re able to race both nights.

“I can’t thank the Loyet Family enough for this opportunity. It just kind of came together because Brad was anxious to get back to the track and I didn’t have anything going on.”

Hendricks is expecting a big difference between racing a winged sprint car compared to a midget and hopes he can quickly adjust.

“I think the biggest thing is how deep you can drive them into the corner with the big wing on top,” he said. “I raced a micro sprint with a wing, but I don’t think the forces on those wings are anything like on a sprint car. I guess the wing is really the only thing that makes me a little bit anxious. If it was a sprint car without a wing I wouldn’t be worried at all.”

This weekend will most likely be a one-off situation for Hendricks in a sprint car as he remains committed to racing for the USAC National Midgets Rookie of the Year Award.

“It’s possible that there might be a time in the future – like maybe after this year – when we run more sprint car races,” he said. “But our plans for this year are still focused on racing the full USAC National Midgets schedule as well as a number of POWRi National races.”

Hendricks will join the USAC tour on April 13-14 at Kokomo Speedway in Kokomo, Ind.
