Sunset Speedway is coming off two action packed days of racing the last week.

First on Wednesday we would see Adventist Health American Classics and Open 4 Cylinders run as support divisions for the mid week Western Sprint Tour Speedweek show.
In Adventist Health American Classics action we’d see Joey Tardio get his 4th win of the 2021 season, this time with a late race pass over Mike Mikelson who would have a impressive Sunset Speedway debut finishing 2nd. Oregon super late model ace Joey Tanner would finish 3rd in his fathers owned #36 car. Tardio would also sweep the night winning the heat and dash as well.
14 cars would arrive for 4 Cylinder Open action for their lone visit to the 1/4 mile of the season. Ryan Conroy would be victorious over the loaded field. Jeremy Hughes would finish 2nd with early race leader Steven Swaja coming in 3rd at the line. Zach Dalrymple would manage a 4th place finish, with Madilynn Ashley finishing 5th. Hughes would be victorious in his heat race while Swaja would win the dash along with his heat race.

Saturday would play host to our first annual Salute to First Responders Night.
Craig Cassell would win once again in Modified action continuing a incredible season for the 25 car out of Albany. Grey Ferrando would finish 2nd with Greg Walters finishing 3rd. Trevor LaBarge and Rick Graham would round out the top 5. Graham would be victorious in heat race action, while Cassell would get the trophy dash win.
Jeremy Brookshire would complete a clean sweep in Stock Car action winning the heat, dash, and Main Event. Jerry Schram would finish 2nd in the Feature, with Don Schott 3rd. PJ Humphrey and Kersey Ferrando would round out the top 5.
Sport Mods would witness a new winner for 2021 as Chris Hallberg would find his was to the checkered first. Jordan Henry would finish 2nd with Trevor Points 3rd. Early Race leader Zack Riehl would unfortunately finish 4th after spinning late as the leader. Riehl would win heat race action, while Hallberg would claim the dash.
Adventist Health American Classics would find their 30 lap feature go flag to flag with no stoppages. When it was all said and done Arnie Case put on a clinic completing a clean sweep for evenings action, Joey Tardio would rebound from early evening struggles to finish 2nd, Doug Pitsch would make his 2021 debut with a 3rd place finish. Frank Elwess and Jacob Myers would round out the top 5. Terry King would be only other driver to find success winning the 2nd heat, however mechanical problems following the checkered would sideline him remainder of night.
Brayden Brookshire would add to his sunset speedway points lead with another victory by the teenage driver. Victoria Chandler would finish 2nd with Kimmy Cannon 3rd. Barry Cannon would have early Race issues being scored 4th at the finish. Chandler would win the dash while Brookshire won the evenings heat race.
