Banks, Oregon- Sunset Speedway Park returns Independence Day, on Thursday, July 4th, for the Modified Firecracker 50. The whole night will be capped off with a massive fireworks display presented by the city of Banks and SSP. IMCA Modifieds, Outlaw Late Models, Pure Stocks/IMCA Hobby Stocks, 4-Bees, and the IMCA Stock Cars will all be on the program.

Thursday tickets are $16.00 for Adults and Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $13.00, Youths (6-12) $8.00, and Children (5 & Under) are FREE. A Family Pass (Two Adults and up to four Youths (6-12)) is offered for $55.00 while Premium Seats are available for $35.00 each. Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, with Racing kicking off at 6:00.

The Modifieds will be the top-billed class for the night as they will battle it out for fifty laps of intense action. Greg Walters has the most wins of the season, with three, at the “Banks Bullring” while Doug Lockwood, Jeremy Martin, and Jerry Schram have conquered the field once.

Sonny Modaff has two Outlaw Late Model victories to his credit while Brian Winkler has one win to his name. In the Pure Stock/Hobby Stock division Austin Henderson is coming off of his third win of 2019. Jacob Myers has bested the competition twice this season while Kendall Lee has done so just once.

In the 4-Bees it has been an amazing campaign with a four-way tie for the most triumphs. “Crimson” Cody Skies, Captain Turnabout, Jeremy Hughes, and Taylor Sayre all have visited victory lane twice while Ryan Conroy is the only single race victor. The IMCA Stock Cars return to SSP for their second race of the season. Kevin Roberts got the job done in their first trip back on June 1st.

But wait it doesn’t stop there. The biggest Street Stock race in the Pacific Northwest returns on Saturday, July 6th. The Jim’s Thriftway 100 will be a one-hundred lap contest for the Street Stock division and the winner receives a cool $1000.00. Also at the ¼-mile clay oval will be the IMCA Modifieds, 4-Bees, IMCA Stock Cars, and both classes of Micro Sprints.

Saturday prices are $13.00 for Adults and Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00, Youths (6-12) $5.00, and Children (5 & Under) are FREE. A Family Pass (Two Adults and up to four Youths (6-12)) is offered for $35.00 while Premium Seats are available for $25.00 each. Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, with Racing kicking off at 6:00. For more information log on to www.sunsetspeedwaypark.com.
