Banks, Oregon- Sunset Speedway Park hosted 98.7 The Bull Night on Saturday, June 29th. The “Bank Bullring” also had another 4-Cylinder Shootout race on tap bringing the best 4-Bee drivers in the area to duke it out for the trophy. Classes on the card included the 4-Bees, Outlaw Late Models, IMCA Sport Mods, Street Stocks, and the Pure Stocks/IMCA Hobby Stocks.

“Crimson” Cody Skies of Vancouver, Washington got the job done against the 4-Bee division to pick up the big win. It is the second such time he has tamed the field. Sonny Modaff, of Battle Ground, Washington, won his second Outlaw Late Model race of 2019 and is the first repeat winner of the season.

Tanner Krohling, also from Vancouver, Washington, once more took care of business in the IMCA Sport Mods. Krohling won his third straight main event in the class. Portland’s Frank Elwess parked his machine in victory lane for the first time this year in the Street Stock class while Vancouver, Washington native Austin Henderson returned to the winner’s circle for the first time since June 1st, in the Pure Stock/IMCA Hobby Stocks. It is the third main event win of the current campaign for Henderson.

Sunset Speedway Park returns Independence Day, on Wednesday July 4th, for the Modified Firecracker 50. The whole night will be capped off with a massive fireworks display presented by the city of Banks and SSP. IMCA Modifieds, Outlaw Late Models, Pure Stocks/IMCA Hobby Stocks, 4-Bees, and the IMCA Stock Cars will all be on the program. Thursday tickets are $16.00 for Adults and Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $13.00, Youths (6-12) $8.00, and Children (5 & Under) are FREE. A Family Pass (Two Adults and up to four Youths (6-12)) is offered for $55.00 while Premium Seats are available for $35.00 each.

But wait it doesn’t stop there. The biggest Street Stock race in the Pacific Northwest returns on Saturday, July 6th. The Jim’s Thriftway 100 will be a one-hundred lap contest for the Street Stock division. Also at the ¼-mile clay oval will be the IMCA Modifieds, 4-Bees, IMCA Stock Cars, and both classes of Micro Sprints.

Saturday prices are $13.00 for Adults and Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00, Youths (6-12) $5.00, and Children (5 & Under) are FREE.
