Austin Henderson Wins The Iron Man 100; Walters, Captain Turnabout, Keller, And Roberts Also Get SSP Victories

Banks, Oregon- Sunset Speedway Park hosted the Iron Man 100 for the Pure Stock/IMCA Hobby Stock division on Saturday, June 1st. Also, on the bill were the IMCA Modifieds, 4-Bees, New Bees, and the Big Sky Landscaping IMCA Stock Car Series. At the end of the night fans were treated to some great racing at the “Banks Bullring”.
Austin Henderson, of Vancouver, Washington, kept the parity of different winners of the Iron Man 100 alive. He is the fifth different winner in as many years of the event and now has two trips to victory lane in 2019. Banks’ Greg Walters continues his incredible season in the IMCA Modifieds after picking up his third triumph at the ¼-mile clay oval.
Storming the field for the second time this season was Captain Turnabout. Turnabout, with his hearty craft making berth from the port of Vancouver, Washington, showed no quarter to his fellow 4-Bee competitors. In the first two New Bee event in 2019 Andie Keller has managed to get the job done in both of them. Lastly, Gresham’s Kevin Roberts got the job done in the Big Sky Landscaping IMCA Modified Series in their first visit of the season to SSP.
Sunset Speedway Park returns to action on Saturday, June 8th, for Fan Appreciation Night. A massive seven classes will be on hand including the Outlaw Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks/IMCA Hobby Stocks, Dwarf Cars, 4-Bees, and New Bees.
Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, with Racing kicking off at 6:00. Tickets are $13.00 for Adults and Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00. A Family Pass (Two Adults and up to four Youths) is offered for $35.00 while Premium Seats are available for $25.00 each. For more information log on to www.sunsetspeedwaypark.com.
