Banks, Oregon- Sunset Speedway Park managed to complete one night of action of the 2019 Sprint Challenge. Wet weather put a damper on things for the Saturday, May 25th, program while Sunday, the 26th, was good to go. Despite only a single round of action being completed fans were treated to some thrilling action. Classes on the card including the IMCA Modifieds, Street Stocks, IMCA Sport Mods, Dwarf Cars, 4-Bees, and both classes of Micro Sprints.

Aloha’s Doug Lockwood parked his mount in victory lane for the first time this year while the same case was made for Hoquiam, Washington traveler Zack Simpson, in the Street Stocks. Cottage Grove’s Braedon Hand bested the field in the IMCA Sport Mods for his first win this season.

Portland’s Ryan Martinez managed to achieve his first triumph of the season in the Dwarf Cars with Jeremy Hughes collecting the second win of the campaign in 4-Bee action. Lastly, Arlington, Washington’s Jesse Schlotfeldt was the Micro Open winner while Colby Thornhill, of Enumclaw, Washington, took care of business in the Micro Restricteds.

Sunset Speedway Park returns for the Iron Man 100 on Saturday, June 1st. This is the biggest race of the year for the Pure Stock/IMCA Hobby Stock division and the track will be offering $3.00 draft beers. Other classes on the card include IMCA Modifieds, 4-Bees, New Bees, and the Big Sky Landscaping IMCA Stock Car Series.

Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, with Racing kicking off at 6:00. Tickets are $13.00 for Adults and Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00. A Family Pass (Two Adults and up to four Youths) is offered for $35.00 while Premium Seats are available for $25.00 each. For more information log on to www.sunsetspeedwaypark.com.
