Banks, Oregon- Sunset Speedway Park was in action for the second occasion of 2019 on Saturday, May 4th. The “Banks Bullring” hosted 98.7 The Bull Night and had some incredible racing. Divisions on the card included the IMCA Modifieds, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks/IMCA Hobby Stocks, 4-Bees, and both classes of Micro Sprints.
Banks native Greg Walters became the most recent winner in the IMCA Modified ranks and is the second different driver in two races to win. Vancouver, Washington veteran Craig Loomis had a great run to become the newest member in the Street Stock class to obtain a victory. Austin Henderson, also from Vancouver, Washington, got the job done in the Pure Stock/IMCA Hobby Stock ranks.
The Micro Sprints finally made their 2019 debut at Sunset on Saturday. Braden Maltais, from Rochester, Washington, got the job done in the Restricted ranks while St. Helens chauffeur Josh Thompson won in the Open division. Lastly, Captain Turnabout, sailing from Vancouver, Washington, gave no quarter to the rest of the 4-Bee fleet to win his first race of the year.
Sunset Speedway Park returns to racing on Saturday, May 11th, for Ladies Night. All Ladies (18+) get into the races for $5.00! Classes racing include the Outlaw Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Mods, Pure Stocks/IMCA Hobby Stocks, 4-Bees, and New Bees.
Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, with Racing kicking off at 6:00. Tickets are $13.00 for Adults and Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00. A Family Pass (Two Adults and up to four Youths) is offered for $35.00 while Premium Seats are available for $25.00 each. For more information log on to www.sunsetspeedwaypark.com.
