Sunset Speedway Park Welcomes Wild West Modified Shootout On Wednesday June 27th

Banks, Oregon- Sunset Speedway Park has two claims to fame when it comes to the Wild West Modified Shootout. One, it is the smallest track the tour visits or for that matter ever visited. Two, it is the only facility that has been apart of all seven seasons and has completed every single main event. That streak will look to continue Wednesday, June 27th when they host round six of the 2018 schedule.
Eight times the series has visited the “Banks Bullring” and six different drivers have emerged from the dust victorious. Jesse Williamson is on top of the win list with three triumphs while Brian Poppa, Ken Schrader, Travis Peery, Mark Carrell, and Kellen Chadwick have one apiece. Carrell’s win is his single career victory with the WWMS.
Locally Sunset Speedway Park has had six IMCA Modified shows. Late Model standout Greg Walters is the only multiple-feature winner with two trips to victory lane. Single race winners include Jimmy Schram, Trevor LaBarge, Aaron Elwess, and Collen Winebarger.
Pit Gates open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates 4:00, Time Trials begin at 5:30, with Racing kicking off at 6:30. Tickets are $13.00 for Adults and Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00. A Family Pass (Two Adults and up to four Youths) is offered for $35.00 while Premium Seats are available for $25.00 each. Tickets, apparel, and more can be purchased online at www.pnwdirtracing.com .
