Banks, Oregon- Sunset Speedway Park hosted the first night of the 2018 Spring Challenge on Saturday, May 26th. Six classes would be on the bill at the "Banks Bullring". These included IMCA Modifieds, Street Stocks, Dwarf Cars, 4-Bee, and both the Open as well as Restricted 600cc Micro Sprints.
Forest Grove's Trevor LaBarge collected a huge win in the IMCA Modified ranks, his first of the season. Arnie Case, out of Vancouver, Washington, parked it in victory lane for the fourth occasion in 2018 in the Street Stocks. In the Dwarf Cars Corey Esteban, from Gaston, would collect the main event victory.
Jesse Schlotfeldt, of Arlington, Washington, would get the job done in the 600cc Open Micros. Coming out on top in the 600cc Restricted Micro class would be Dakota Drake. Ryan Conroy continued his winning ways by capturing the 4-Bee feature making it four wins in a row.
The Spring Challenge continues on Sunday, May 27th, for the second and final round of the weekend. The same six classes from Saturday night will be racing.
Pit Gates open at 1:00 PM, Front Gates 3:00, Time Trials begin at 4:30, with Racing kicking off at 6:30. Tickets are $13.00 for Adults and Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00. A Family Pass (Two Adults and up to four Youths) is offered for $35.00 while Premium Seats are available for $25.00 each. For more information log on to www.sunsetspeedwaypark.com.
