Season Opener Bobby Morley Memorial April 30th

Mother nature claimed the 30th Anniversary Season Opener on April 23rd with her appearance. But that won’t stop the racers, crews, fans and staff at Sunset Speedway. This weekend will be the 30th Anniversary Season opener kicking off the 30th year on the 30th of April with the Bobby Morley Memorial Street Stock Race, NW Extreme Late Models/Super Late Models, IMCA Sport Mods and NW Dwarfs.
The Bobby Morley Memorial Street Stock race will be opened to Sunset Speedway and River City Speedway street stocks. We invite any River City Street Stocks to join us for this race since St. Helens was where Bobby raced on his off nights at Sunset Speedway and was known and loved by many at River City Speedway. The cars must be legal to their home track rules; we will have both sets of rules for tech.
“Bobby always had a love for racing. From the days growing up as pit crew for his dad, Marty, to building his cars and his days of Motocross. He eventually found himself behind the wheel of his own street stock. He was always the one keeping his fingers crossed all week and chewing out mother nature on race days when she would grace us with her presence. The number 23 is a number that will never be forgotten and a man that will always be remembered for the love of his family, his love of racing and his love of helping everyone around him. Bobby loved Sunset Speedway and the family he gained along the way. He will be missed by so many.” – Holmason/Morley Family
Bobby’s parents, Marty and Laurie Holmason have graciously added $1000 to the Bobby Morley Memorial Street Stock race purse. A complete breakdown of this race can be located below.

We hope this race is a huge success and we all know Bobby will be watching from above with a beer and popcorn in hand.”

Pit Gates will open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates open at 4:00, and racing starts at 6:30 each night. Tickets are Adults $13.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-18) $10.00, Youths (Ages 6-12) $5.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE and a family pass will be offered for two Adults and up to four Youths for just $35.00.
