Sunset Speedway Park would host some exciting racing in front of a good crowd on Saturday July 18th. The Budweiser IMCA Modifeids would be in the house for the Dancin Bare Topless Modified 100 and the Northwest Dwarf Cars would compete in the Riverside Industrial 30. The Pure Stocks and Late Model Lites were also in action at the tight 1/4-mile clay oval.

In the Budweiser IMCA Modifieds Mark Carrell was on rails in his Mark's Auto Body #27 GRT by Phillips. He would pass the Schram Brothers Excavating/Century III Stables/Bodies By Steve-O #16 Hughes of Jerry Schram, from Vancouver, Washington, on lap twenty. Carrell, out of Redmond, had the field covered from there on out, or so it seemed.

A late surge from Eugene's Jesse Williamson made it a race for the win. Williamson, chauffeuring the NexGen Race Cars/Furniture Options/S.D.M.F. Customs/Housing Options #W5 NexGen, maneuvered around Carrell on lap ninety-five to get the coveted position. From there Williamson would pace the field for the remainder of the distance to win his first ever Dancin Bare Topless Modified 100. It would be the second occasion he has won at the “Banks Bullring” in 2015.

Rob Ireland of Banks was second in his Ireland & Ireland at Law/Privateer Racing/Klecker Knives/Applebee Aviation #8 Dirt Works by Hoffman while Mark Carrell would end his night in third. Jerry Schram got fourth and the Jackson Industries/Walters Racing/Frickentool.com/Warpaint Motorsports Graphix #66 Shaw of Aloha's Doug Lockwood was fifth.

In the Northwest Dwarf Cars it looked like Guy Tow Jr., of Castle Rock, Washington and driving his Fusion Grahix #37 Ebeling, was on his way to victory lane during the Riverside Industrial Supply 30. But in the last couple of laps Portland's Ryan Martinez would make the necessary move to get the lead and win the race. It would be the fourth occasion that Martinez and the Auto Truck Wholesale/St. John's Tire Factory/Van Raden Industries #9 M&M team has visited victory lane.

Shane Youngren of Tigard would be the runner-up, in his Tommy's Transmissions/Home Turf Sport Bar #18 D&R, while Guy Tow Jr. ended up third. Marty Holmason would finish fourth in the Holmason Racing #12 entry while the Jerry's Precision Muffler/Drager Performance/Sheeler Racing #66S M&M of Dylan Chrisman from Albany was fifth.

Trevor LaBarge of Forest Grove would take care of business in the Pure Stock ranks. LaBarge would dominate the race leading every lap but one. It would mark the fourth time that the DVC Machine/Pure Addiction Diesel Performance/S&R Motorz #7 Camaro team found their way to the winner's circle.

Hillsboro's John Henry, driving the Ernest Racing/Henry Racing/TK's Auto Repair/Joe's Auto Body and Paint #68 Camaro, was second followed by Marcie Treat of Cornelius in third driving her DVC Machine/Dave's Automotive/Transaction Transmission #02 Camaro. The Lee Racing #66 Camaro of Kendall Lee, from Forest Grove, was fourth while Travis Pitsch was fifth in his Pitsch Racing #11 machine.

The Late Model Lites only had two cars that managed to make it out come feature time. Francis Kuper of Salem managed to pick up the feature win in the Ron Brewster owned Central Oregon Trucking/W.W. Trailers/Driving Force Graphics #31B Rayburn. Fighting mechanical problems Dan Prewitt, from Prineville, was second in his Stipe Engine Specialties/Fab-Tek Automotive #29 Fab-Tek.

Sunset Speedway Park returns to racing on Saturday July 25th for 98.7 The Bull Night. Classes in competition include the Northwest Extreme Late Model Series, IMCA Sport Mods, 4-Bee's, and both classes of Micro Sprints.

Pit Gates will open at 2:00 PM, Front Gates open at 4:00, and racing starts at 6:30 each night. Tickets for both events are Adults $13.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-18) $10.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $5.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE and a family pass will be offered for two Adults and up to four Youths for just $35.00.
