Kinderknecht Wins Clint Walrod Memorial

118 cars filled the pits at Stuart Speedway for the 9th Annual Clint Walrod Memorial presented by Supreme Lawn & Landscape, Avey Sanitation, Sauerman Trucking, Anita Lumber Company, John's Tree Service, Fox Welding, Karl Chevrolet of Stuart, DJ Septic Service and VIP Contractors.
Outlaw Mini Mods were the first features on the track and after a few tries it was Dan Kline staying out front for the duration to pick up the win. Logan Brown, Chase Daniels, Tanner Prehn and Matt Prehn rounded out the top five.
MADCRA Mod Lites were up next for the Clint Walrod Memorial feature and it was a good one as Randy Bryan and Kaden Cochran paced the field early. A couple of yellows slowed the field and Justin Kinderknecht took advantage to get himself out front and go on to the feature win. Tanner Gannon finished second with Bryan third, Cochran fourth and Mike Kennedy fifth.
Bruce Hower and Nathan Balk brought the IMCA Sport Compacts to green next with Kolby Sabin coming from seventh to take the win. Bryan Vannausdle took home second with David Kimmel third, Devin Jones fourth and Mark Smith fifth.
IMCA Northern SportMods were up next with Mitchell Morris and Hunter Longnecker showing the way. Brayton Carter took all of nine laps to make his way from eighth to the lead and went on to take the easy win. Brian Osantowski crossed in second with Dusty Masolini third, Garrett Nelson fourth and David Johnson fifth.
Rusty Bates and Travis Fenton brought out the IMCA Hobby Stocks next and it was Eric Stanton working his way through the field from tenth to take his 99th career IMCA win. Brandon Cox finished about a foot short of the win to take second with Dylan Nelson third, Miciah Hidlebaugh fourth and Jason Kohl fifth.
IMCA Stock Cars were up next with Kenzie Ritter and Brock Badger on the front row. Mike Nichols used the bottom of the track to take over the top spot on lap five and cruised through a few cautions to take the feature win. Shawn Ritter finished in second with Jeremy Gettler third, Brock Badger fourth and Bob Daniels fifth.
Adam Ayers and Scott Bash led the IMCA Modifieds to the speedway for the final feature of the night. Tom Berry Jr sliced and diced until taking the lead on lap eight, but Tim Ward got to second just before a yellow flew on lap eleven. Ward gave it his best but Berry was too strong and went on to the win. Ward finished in second with Nick Roberts third, Todd Shute fourth and Tony Cox fifth.
We want to thank all of the drivers, crew and fans for coming out for this great event. Next Wednesday we’ll be back to weekly racing presented by Adair Parts & Service, Rick's Towing, Stuart Herald, Karl Chevrolet of Stuart, Avey Sanitation and Coke Atlantic Bottling. See you then!
