$2,000 to win Late Models and Modifieds Friday, July 12! $1,200 to win E-Mods plus Hornets and Street Stocks!

Spoon River Speedway returns to action on Friday, July 12 with five divisions competing on the high-banks!

UMP Late Models and UMP Modifieds will both be competing for a $2,000-to-win/$175-to-start purse. UMP Hornets are chasing an $800-to-win/$50-to-start purse, E-Mods will see an increased purse this weekend paying $1,200-to-win/$100-to-start and Street Stocks will return for their second event of the year paying $400-to-win/$80-to start. Friday’s event will feature the Late Models, Modifieds and E-Mods all contesting 25 lap A-Mains, while Hornets and Street Stocks will be 15 laps.

The UMP Late Models see the top three competitors separated by only eight points as Jacksonville, Illinois driver Tucker Finch leads with 134 points over Justin Reed of Camp Point, Illinois and Brandon Eskew of Ashland, Illinois, who are tied with 126 points (-8). Carlinville’s Cody Maguire currently sits fourth (-22) in the standings ahead of Jason Feger(-36) in fifth.

On the heels of a victory last Friday, Mike Chasteen, Jr. of Peoria, Illinois sits atop the UMP Modified Point Standings over Ray Bollinger (-10), Trevor Neville (-28), Charley Hess (-32) and Josh Allen (-48).

2017 Track Champion, Kevin Morrow currently leads the E-Mod Point Standings. Morrow has won three of the four contested events so far in 2024. Trent Ross (-10) is the only other driver to score a victory in the E-Mod Division and holds the second spot ahead of Jake Montgomery (-18), Blake Monroe (-32) and Kevin Anderson (-54).

In the UMP Hornet division, three-time track champion David Lauritson, of Normal, Illinois leads by four points over Matt Mackey. 2021 track champion Tucker Clark is only six points behind Lauritson in third. Zack Wilson (-36) and Jeremy Hancock (-40) round out the top five.

While not scheduled to return until August 9th, the battle atop the Pro Late Model Standings is shaping up to be great. Two-time Pro Late Model Champion, Brad Denney is tied for the top spot with Jeff Dotzert. Braden Bilger (-10) sits comfortably in third, with Jose Parga and Brandon Sweitzer tied for fourth, 36 points behind the lead duo.

Pit Gates open at 4:00PM on Friday with Grandstand Gates at 5:00PM.
Driver Registration/Pill Draw closes at 6:30PM, with Hot Laps scheduled for 7:00PM. Racing will follow.
