Summer Heat Don't Stop the True Racers!

As temperatures crept up to the century mark this past weekend it didn't keep the true blooded racer form coming to the HIghbanks. Racers were ready to come back after the summer break and get back to racing. Battles through out the top ten points runners are starting to have implications on where they will finish the season and there are only 7 points races left to decide who will remain in and who will be out!

Brennon Lacy had a rough week the last time he took to the track in early July but had all pistons firing as he charged his way up to the lead and never looked back. He is currently second in track points and sits seventh in the NASCAR National points. This should change this week and we could see him as high as forth over all in the nation.

Its has been a year since Steve Toalson recorded a win in the Grand National division at the Highbanks and for this past Champion it was a sweet victory to get back to the winners circle. Many issue this year with three blown motors and last years huge flip on the back straightway have kept the No. 6 out of victory lane but Steve has kept on fighting and has put it all back together to show he is still in the hunt for a win week in and week out.

The B Modified division has turned out to be one for the record books this year. New winners keep emerging along with first time winners in the class. This week Hunter Byers puts it all together and makes it his first win of the season at the Highbanks. Chris Hawkins still leads the track points in the B mods and also sit atop the National Division II points for NASCAR. I'm personally looking forward to this weeks race to see who will take the home the checkered flag.

Tyler Wolff has been making an impressive run not only at the Highbanks but around the nation at other tracks as well. Fresh off of his win at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland Mo. Wolff took the 4w wire to wire this past week in the Modified A Main making it his 4th win of the season. Tyler sits first in track points at the Highbanks, leads the state points and is 29th in the National points hunt of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series.
