B Mod Summertime Shootout weekend review.

This week in racing was just an awesome week. We received a special call from turn 4 worker Brian Guilfoyle! That's right Brian is out of ICU and is able to talk. He has been move to his own room on the 10th floor at St. John's in Tulsa room 1039. He has completed two surgeries that were need to set the fractures in his back and arm. He was able to visit with the fans via phone broadcast over the intercom. He is doing very well and is ready to come back to the track! He thanked everyone for their prayers and said keep praying! When I visited with Brian on Sunday afternoon we presented him and his wife Shawna with the news that the Driver, fans and workers had collected $5600 for him! It was received with great tears of joy! Thank you to all that gave. We truly are a close nit racing family! On to racing action from last week!

The Pure Stock division was a reversal of last weeks action where son and father finished one, two. This week Kevin Lacy bested the full field of Pure Stock followed by son Kevin Lacy. The run this week should keep Kevin Lacy at the top of the National standings in the Division IV Whelen All American Series.

The Grand National class come down to the distance between the exit of turn four and the finish line. Darin Rigney lead the majority of the race till the last few feet of the race. Coming down to the line a lap car held up the 26 of Rigney just enough to let Kyle Davis pull along side. With a little rubbing going on, Davis slides by and grabs the victory by a nose. All the close quarter racing sent cars spinning after they crossed the line This one will be the one to re-watch on FansChoice.tv for sure.

A Modified driver Tyler Wolfe remains on a roll pulling off his 3rd win of the season and his second in a row. This has increased his lead in the track championship points and the state points standings in the NASCAR Whelen All American Series. Wolfe has 7 tops five's in 9 starts and that has him setting 32 in the National points hunt. A few more wins could easily put him in the top ten!

The B Mods had their Summertime Shootout and Pit Crew Challenge this week. Chris Hawkins and his crew were fresh off a win in the Grand National Pit Crew Challenge last week and were fully up to the challenge this week. Improving over their time from last week by a full 14 seconds they took the challenge win with a 1.14.77 just a little over 2 seconds off the 1.12.48 set by the Pure Stock team of Tom Cantwell. The B mod shootout was an action packed race with Chris Hawkins coming out on top. After a tire went down and a spin at the start of the race, Hawkins took the 1XX to the hot pit for a tire change and restarted from the tail of the field. With the help of a few more cautions Hawkins slowly made his way to the lead and pull out to nice lead by the race end! This was Hawkins second win of the season. He leads both the track and national standings at this time.
