Koch wins Round 1 of FASTLANE Super Stock series at Red Cedar.

The Dave Shackleton Memorial Super Stock Special was once again aligned with the FASTLANE Super Stock Series which brought 46 Super Stocks to town to compete for the $2974 top prize!

Shawn McFadden and Jordan Henkemeyer lead the field to green in the 30 lap super stock main event. McFadden would take off to the early lead as a battle ensued for 2nd just behind him with Kyle Copp, Tom Karis and Henkemeyer with Copp and Henkemeyer eventually clearing Karis. A few laps Later, a caution would fall, which would stack things up again. On that restart Dexton Koch Would start to emerge and make a bid for the lead he would sweep around second and third position and pull even with McFadden for the lead. The following lap Koch would take the lead Copp would follow suit And move into second, as the two approached lap traffic, Copp would start to close, But would never get close enough to make a move for the lead. Behind them, Curt Myers and Terran Spacek were charging from the rear of the field. Curt had just cracked the top 5 when I caution flew with 6 laps remaining. On the restart Koch would jump back out to the lead but Myers was charging hard on the outside. Myers moved into second and started to pursue Koch. While the gap shrunk there was just not enough laps left as Myers ran out of time . Koch would go onto win followed by Myers, Henkemeyer, Copp and Spacek.
Jake Hartung would jump out to the early lead in the Wissota Modified feature over Ashley Anderson and Kevin Adams. Adams and Anderson would battle briefly for second position with Adams clenching the spot. Adams would start to move around on the speedway and found that his best momentum was gained on the outside. Adams would shoot past Hartung for the lead and never look back. Followed by Hartung, Anderson, Shane Halopka and Tanner Gehl.
Wyatt Boyum would move into the lead early in the Midwest Modified Feature. As battle waged on behind him for the top 5 positions. Ashton Schulte and William Moulter would battle for 2nd as Boyum continued to lead. A few late race cautions would shuffle the deck again and again but no one could touch Boyum as he was just a step ahead on this night. Boyum would pick up the win followed by Moulter, Schulte, James Trantina and Blake Adams.
Dylan Baskin looked as if he was going to win his first ever Street Stock Feature at the speedway as he led almost the entire event but a slight slip up on the final lap allowed Gunnar Watkins a opportunity to get inside of Baskin. As the pair entered, turn one, Watkins moved to the inside and looked as if he was headed for the win as they exited turn two. The two continued to battle Hard which broke the momentum enough that Hunter VanGilder drove to the inside of both walk-ins and Baskin three and four and prevailed to the win. Followed by Watkins, Baskin, Fred Prudoehl and Bruce Stanley.
Brandon Gleiter picked up another win in the Red Cedar Speedway division, followed by Jason Bauer and Jeff Schmitt.
The speedway is off Friday June 14. Join us for our next show on Friday June 21st as we celebrate military night featuring all six classes.
