Park Jefferson Speedway host 2015 Iron Cup this weekend
9/20 Noon Update: The J&J Fitting Iron Cup Championships are set to take place tonight . Last Chance Qualifiers will be ran in all classes for those that did not run a pole dash last night. The finishing order will determine starting spots 13-24 in the A Main. Drivers that did not run last night are welcome to tag the rear of a LCQ. Hot laps at 4:00 and racing at 5:00. Tonight's races will be broadcast on Speed Shift TV.
Jefferson, SD-Iron Cup preparations are under way at the Park Jefferson Speedway this Friday, Sept 18 thru Sunday, Sept 20. After a 2 months off, the 4/10th mile facility will see three weekends of racing in a row to close out the 2015 campaign.
Friday night features the 2015 Park Jefferson Season Championship, which is the Prelude to the Iron Cup. A full night of racing with heats and features will determine the 2015 points champions. Four of the five classes have drivers that are separated by 5 points, so every position will count to see who can take home the title. Also on the line are provisional starting sports in the Iron Cup A-Main. Pit gate opens at 4pm, the fan entrance opens at 5 with hot laps at 6:30 and racing at 7:30. Tickets for adults are $15 and children 6-16 are $5. Pit passes are $30.
Saturday will see the opening night of the 2015 Iron Cup. The evening will open with the Speedway Motors heat races. Following the Speedway Motors heat races for the evening, the top 12 in points will then redraw for their positions in the My Race Pass pole dashes. The results of the pole dash will line up the first 6 rows of the A Main. Tickets for adults are $18 and children 6-16 are $8 and pit passes are $30. For all drivers who have not registered, registration will be open as soon as the pit gate opens. We will only accept cash, money orders or credit card for race registration.
Sunday will see the final night of the 2015 Iron Cup sponsored by J&J Fitting. All drivers who have not qualified for the Iron Cup A Main will advance to the B Mains. The finish of the B Mains will set the final 12 starting spots in the feature event. The night will close with the A Main events to crown the Iron Cup champions. Pit gate opens at 2pm, the fan entrance opens at 3 with hot laps at 4pm and racing at 5pm sharp. Tickets for adults are $18 and children 6-16 are $8. Pit passes are $30.
