Corey Delancey, Tyler Carpenter & KC Burdette Bag Feature Wins at Ohio Valley Speedway

After two weeks of rainouts the Ohio Valley Speedway welcomed back eager race fans and a pit full of race cars for the ‘Country Roads Classic’ featuring the first appearance of the Steel Block Late Model Series. Picking up feature wins and trips to the KMA Auto Victory Lane were Corey Delancey, Tyler Carpenter, KC Burdette, Jarrod Willis, Jamie Harper, Justin Carpenter, Bryson Long and Stephen Sutler.

Parkersburg, WV’s Corey Delancey would chase down and pass race long leader Daniel Hill to secure the top spot in the Steel Block Late Model Tour’s ‘Country Roads Classic’. The driver of the C2 machine would charge from his 5th starting spot enroute to the win over Daniel Hill, Zach Milbee, Matt Melvin and Mike Sprouse.

In the Las Trancas Super Late Model division, a strong 21 car field would fill the pit area. It was all Tyler Carpenter of Parkersburg, WV notching his third consecutive feature win at the Valley and 5th overall. Carpenter would propel his Kryptonite #28 machine to the point and lead all 25 circuits and park it in the KMA Auto Victory Lane. Following Carpenter, was current point leader Harold Redman Jr., Andy Bond, Rod Evans in his season debut and Josh Tonkin.

Parkersburg, WV’s KC Burdette would garner his 3rd win in a row in the Polymer Services UMP Modified division. A hard earned victory for Burdette as early race leader Kyle Bond would vault off the front row and lead the pack. Bond would feel the pressure of Burdette throughout the event as the driver of the KC44 looked high and low repeatedly to no avail as Bond was able turn back his advances. Finally in the late stages of the race Burdette was able to grab the low side and power by to secure the feature win. Following Burdette was Bond, Travis Dickson, Tyler Carpenter and Eddie Carrier Jr.

An eighteen car Pike Street Lanes Sportmod class would see first time winner
Jarrod Willis put the #3 machine in the KMA Victory Lane. Subbing for Pat Garrett, Willis would control the Sportmod A Main enroute to the win ahead of Toby Wilson, Brandon Lewis, Ron Pickens and Levi Wright.

A pair of Bill’s Auto Salvage SCDRA 4 Cylinder features would be on the docket with Jamie Harper and Justin Carpenter splitting the pair of features. In the make up feature from June 10th it was Jamie Harper of Portsmouth, Ohio picking up his first feature of the season aboard the Southern Ohio Auto Sales/ Deer Crossing Archery/ Darby’s Heating and Cooling/ Clark’s Rides/ Big Sandy’s/ Wise Racing/ SAMtastic Designs #964. Following Harper to the payout window was Patrick Willbarger, Josh Ayers, Jeff Rankin and Matt Schofield.

In the regular scheduled Bill’s Auto Salvage SCDRA 4 Cylinder event it was Vienna, WV’s Justin Carpenter notching his first win of the season. Following Carpenter across the line was Matt Schofield, Jamie Harper, Patrick Willbarger and Chaz Dawson.

The kids of the Mike’s Auto Body WRA Mini Wedge division would kick off the program with Bryson Long claiming his 7th Young Gun feature win of the season ahead of Ryder Parsons and Easton Mayle. In the Veteran division it was Stephen Sutler grabbing his 2nd feature event of the season in front of Avie Sprouse and Joey Miller.
