Jack Walker #95j – “Good to go for the Loudon Classic this weekend.”

Jack Walker of Bow, NH. Will be back behind the wheel of the #95J in the MOAT Mountain Legend Series at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS) as part of the Loudon Classic weekend. This Saturday and Sunday will be races number 5 & 6 for the 2016 MOAT Mnt race season.

With 3 different winners in the 1st four race Shaun Buffington #23s, Taylor Martin #20 and Jordan O’Brien #140 and drivers Noah Korner #31 and Patrick Dillon #45 making podium finishes as well. Jack Walkers looks to drive the #95j to victory lane soon, hopefully this weekend. “We have been running a lot more road course races this year, both at NHMS and at Thompson, so we have a lot more laps under our belt. We’ve put a lot of work into our road course car, because we’re running it so often, so we should be good to go for the Loudon Classic this weekend.”
The road course at NHMS is 1.6 miles long with 12 turns, long straight aways, hair pin turns, hills and valleys, “There is quite a bit of shifting on the road course. Just on the front stretch you are going from 2nd to 5th gear. After racing on the road course for a while it becomes natural.”
One of the keys to getting around the road course at NHMS is hitting your marks, “It is very important to hit your marks on the road course because often times if you miss your marks on one turn it will cause you to miss your marks on several turns after that. That can be seconds of lost time.”
Driving down the front strech from turn 12 to turn 1 the drivers are able to use the draft off the cars in front of them to increase their speeds to approximately 110mph. “It would only make a difference on the front stretch because that is the only place where you are moving fast enough to make the draft a factor. The rest of the course doesn’t have long enough straights or large sweeping corners that allow for the speeds that make drafting effective.”

Jack has already gotten a 3rd place finish in the Sign Works Legend Series here at NHMS on the mini-oval, “I was very excited for the rest of the night, and still am, in fact. It was my first top 3 since I stopped racing 4 cylinder cars in 2013 due to a rollover where I pretty much totaled the VW Golf I was racing. It had been so long since I had a podium finish I almost forgot the feeling, but now, I can’t wait to get back there.”

Now Jack is looking for a podium finish in the MOAT Mnt Legend Series, “Every time I race I get more and more confident, not only in my ability but also in the setup of the car. I’m still finding speed and working on lines on the road course right now, but once I get those figured out I’ll be able to run for top 3s and top 5s and hopefully get up there and win one.”
Jack Walker #95j – “Good to go for the Loudon Classic this weekend.”With the left and right turns and long straightaways and hills a lot of work goes into the set up the car. “We pretty much balance the left & right weight bias. We also install a tall rear gear for the long straights.”

Jack would like to thank his fans and sponsors. “We are planning on racing from Maine to Connecticut. This year we’re hoping that more of my fans will be able to come to our races. We are also teaming up with NH American Heart Association to raise awareness and money for this wonderful charity. We will be doing a number of off track events as well for the fans to come out and visit us. Visit my website, www.jackwalkerracing.com and stay tuned to our social media, @jack95j, for updates to our schedule both on and off track as well as cool contests and giveaways for awesome prizes from our sponsors.”
