Lebanon Midway and Cash Money Late Models ready for Sunday's Tony Roper Memorial
By Ronnie Williams (Lebanon, MO) -- The Lebanon Midway Speedway And The Malvern Bank Cash Money Late Model Series are ready for action on Sunday Evening May 26th for The 19th Annual Tony Roper Memorial with Racing action set to start at 7:30.
This is the 2nd year for the Speedway and The Cash Money Series to team-up with the popular Dirt Late Model Series head lining the program.
Last year before a capacity crowd, Chris Hawkins was able to apply pressure from leader and Series Champion Jon Driskell and took advantage on a late restart with Brandon Hunter of Arkansas waiting in the shawdows as Hawkins took the popular win.
The Series is averaging 32 Dirt Late Models per event so far after 3 events in 2019 with Republic's Brad Looney leading the points with 3 feature wins so far as Brandon Maggard and Michael Maggard are close behind.
The Series started in 2018 was the brain child of Justin Wells and Darrell Mooneyham using a spec shock and a good solid set of rules keeping the cost down. It was The Roper Event at Midway last season when the Series brought over 26 entries and started the trend of solid car counts with drivers from the 4-state area at the tracks holding the events.
