Jodie Robinson Wins SCCT Debut at the Speedway; Legends Night On Tap Saturday
(PETERSEN MEDIA- Merced, CA)- With the waiving of the checkered flag on Saturday night in Merced, CA it was 16 year old Jodie Robinson celebrating with a wing dance as he won the inaugural Sprint Car Challenge Tour event at Merced Speedway.
In an action packed night of racing, Robinson bested the stout field of 34 entrants for her first ever winged sprint car victory. Robinson was able to fend off Justyn Cox, Kyle Hirst, DJ Netto, and Kaleb Montgomery to grab the very popular win.
Nathan Rolfe kicked the night off by establishing quick time, and heat race wins went to Netto, Hirst, Zane Blanchard, and Tim Kaeding.
Jodie Robinson would win the Dash, and Bradley Terrell would win the night’s B Main.
Mini Stock action would see Shawn Depriest roar to the win over Gene Glover, Lucy Falkenberg, Lee Ragsdale, and Andy Boydstun.
Timmy Crews took top honors in Mini Late Model action. He got the best of Carson Guthrie, Riley Jeppesen, Logan Clay, and Anthony Brinster.
Saturday night at Merced Speedway marks Legends Night and another round of the Highway 99 Challenge. On the racing card with be both the IMCA Modifieds and Sport Mods, Hobby Stocks and Mini Stocks with the action going green at 7pm.
Tickets for this show will be $15 for adults, $13 for seniors, Kids 12 and under will be just $5, and those little ones five and under will be admitted at no cost.
