7/6/2018 Race Recap

"Every race we learn a little more" said Slack regarding his 3rd place finish at the Sue Bednarski Memorial event. "We just need to continue to make small adjustments, and keep chipping away at the lap times."
Owner of 906 Performance and driver of the #30 modified, Slack talked further about his duties behind the wheel. "I need to work on my consistency. We decided to use the 602 crate engine and enjoy the weight break. I'm learning fast that momentum is key with such a low powered engine, and the smallest mistake yields a substantial suffering lap time." The 'weight break' Slack referenced is in regards to the UMA rules package. If a car is equipped with the 602 sealed crate engine, it may weigh 100+ lbs lighter than those with built engines.
"We will get there" Slack concluded. "I just gotta thank everyone involved with the car. My wife does tons of stuff behind the scenes, my Dad helps in the shop when he can, Leroy over at Leroy's Garage is always helping our engine program, Pam and Mel always help at the track, Scott and Penny, the list goes on including our other sponsors Rutco Enterprises, and Darwin Butkovich Trucking. We all work 50+ hours a week, but everyone pitches in where they can."
Next up on the schedule is the Dick Trickle Memorial event at Marshfield Motor Speedway, Wednesday July 11.
