Magnolia Motor Speedway Set for 602 Sportsman World Championship
Mega Event Scheduled for May 28-30 at The Mag

COLUMBUS, Miss. (05/18/21) – Magnolia Motor Speedway is busily preparing for the 602 Sportsman World Championship, which is set for Friday – Sunday, May 28 -30 and culminates with a $3,000-To-Win / $300-To-Start finale for the 602 Sportsman division.

Also, in action throughout the weekend will be the Trak Star Crate Late Models, Murphy Towing Street Stocks, William Wells Three Star Tire and Auto Factory Stocks, Eaton Clinic Modifieds and Murphy Towing Hot Shots. Each of the divisions will race contest features on both Saturday and Sunday.

The weekend kicks off with on Friday, May 28 with an Open Practice Session from 7-10 p.m. for all classes.

On Saturday, May 29 the 602 Sportsman division will qualify, followed by $300-To-Win heat races for the division. Sportsman heat races will be CRUSA point races.

Also on the card for Saturday night will be complete shows for the Trak-Star Crate Late Models ($700-To-Win), Murphy Towing Street Stocks ($500-To-Win), Williams Wells Three Star Tire and Auto Factory Stock ($300-To-Win), Eaton Clinic Modifieds ($300-To-Win) and Murphy Towing Hot Shots (payout based on car count).

On Sunday, May 30 the Sportsman World Championship Night will include 602 Sportsman B-Mains and the $3,000-To-Win, 50 Lap finale. 

Again competing in complete shows will be the Trak-Star Crate Late Models ($1,000-To-Win, Murphy Towing Street Stocks ($500-To-Win), Williams Wells Three Star Tire and Auto Factory Stock ($400-To-Win), Eaton Clinic Modifieds ($500-To-Win) and Murphy Towing Hot Shots (payout based on car count).

Super Late Models will not be running this weekend.

The drivers meeting is at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday with racing action to follow.

Saturday May 29 Sportsman Will Qualify and Run Heat Races.
Sportsman Heat Races will be CRUSA Point Races. HEATS 1- $300, 2- $200, 3- $175, 4- $125, 5- $100, 6- $90, 7- $80, 8- $70, 9- $60, 10-20 $50. (Number of Heats will be determined by car count.)

Sunday May 30th Sportsman Will Run B-Mains and 50 Lap Feature.
Sunday 1- $3,000, 2- $1,500, 3- $1,000, 4- $900, 5- $800, 6- $700, 7- $600, 8- $575, 9- $550, 10- $525, 11- $500, 12- $475, 13- $450, 14- $425, 15- $400, 16- $375, 17- $350, 18- $325, 19-26 $300.

(Starting 26 Cars, 25th and 26th Place will be Provisionals, 25th Highest Magnolia Points 2020 and 26th Lucky Dog Draw).

If more than 60 entries are on hand in the 602 Sportsman division a Non-Qualifier Race will be run on Sunday, paying $500-To-Win. The winner can choose to forfeit the winnings and start on the tail of the feature.

The early entry fee for the weekend is $100, Plus $10 CRUSA Points Saturday and Transponder Fee.  Sportsman competitors have until Saturday, May 22 to file an early entry for the event. After this date, the entry fee will be $150, Plus $10 CRUSA Points Saturday and Transponder Fee. Call Johnny Stokes 662-574-2572 to pre-enter.
