Magnolia Motor Speedway Welcomes Fans & Racers Back This Weekend

The Sportman World Championship Set For This Weekend – May 22-24

Columbus, Mississippi (05/18/20) - YES! YES! YES! It’s official!

Race fans can once again attend races at Magnolia Motor Speedway starting with this weekend’s Sportsman World Championship.

Attendees are asked to please practice social distancing and sit 6 feet apart from others not in your family. Families are allowed to sit together. Additionally, attendees are encouraged to bring hand sanitizer and masks.

Magnolia Motor Speedway hosts the Sportsman World Championship this Thursday – Saturday, May 22-24. The finale will see 26 Sportsman cars starting the 50-lap / $3,000-to-win / $300-to-start event.

Also, in action with complete programs on Saturday and Sunday will be the Crate Racin’ USA Late Models, the Ranch House Diner Factory Stocks and the Three Star Tire and Auto Street Stocks.

Additionally, Crate Racin' USA Modified Sportsman and Hot Shots will each contest a complete program on Sunday only.

On Friday, May 22 there will be an Open Practice Session form 7-10 p.m. with all classes welcome.

The program on Saturday, May 23 will find the Sportsman qualifying followed by $300-to-win heat races for the division. The number of heats will be determined by car count. Also in action, will be the Crate Racin’ USA Late Models ($800-to-win), Three Star Tire and Auto Street Stocks ($500-to-win) and Ranch House Diner Factory Stocks ($300-to-win).

On Sunday, May 24 the Sportsman World Championship will run their B-Mains and the feature event, starting 26 cars. If more than 60 cars are entered, there will be a Non-Qualifier Race paying $300-to-win.

The Top-6 or Top-8 (depending on number of heats), will have a Pick and Choose Draw. Each driver will draw a number, and then another driver of their choice to start in that position.

Crate Racin’ USA Late Models ($800-to-win), Three Star Tire and Auto Street Stocks ($500-to-win), Ranch House Diner Factory Stocks ($300-to-win), Crate Racin' USA Modified Sportsman ($400-to-win) and Hot Shots (Payout based on Car Count) will also be in action on Sunday.

Super Late Model will not be running this weekend.

Drivers Meeting is at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday with racing to follow.
