Magic Valley Speedway
Quale Sweeps Truck Double Feature
Two wheels, three wheels, or four, Magic Valley Speedway welcomed them all on Saturday, August 24, as the third-mile asphalt oval presented the Western Mountain Inc. Bike and Big Wheel Races for Kids. After the night’s opening bicycle and tricycle races, the NASCAR Trucks, Western Mountain Inc. NASCAR Latemodels, McDonald’s Street Stocks, Quale’s Electronics Stingers, Project Filter Mini Modifieds, and Budweiser Bombers fired their engines and went to battle for crucial late season points.
Jenna Quale bested NASCAR Truck competitors Neil Boyle and John Newhouse to take home both Saturday night feature wins in her Fusion Mechanical and Process, Quale’s Electronics pickup. Boyle and Newhouse swapped second and third place finishes between the features, with Ron Lawser and Tyler Phernetton taking home fourth and fifth place honors respectively in both features.
It was victory number three for Shawn Lester in the Western Mountain Inc. NASCAR Latemodel ranks. Lester brought his Jacksons Spuds machine home ahead of Scott Gilligan, Michael Haddenham, Beau Phipps, and Scott Murri.
McDonald’s Street Stock points leader Ronn McClimans extended his advantage over the field with his fifth feature victory of the year at the controls of his Advantage Archery, Monterey Jack’s mount. Zaine Newberry came home second ahead of Mitch Pehrson, Jamie Hyde, and Kasen Powell, who pounded the wall just short of the line and slid across to finish in a shower of sparks.
Alex Fitterman stormed to his third Quale’s Electronics Stinger feature win of the year Saturday. Tiffany Moen finished second ahead of Kaethyn Gilligan, Bentlee Hillock, and Sophia Gilligan.
Project Filter Mini Modified racer Ed Griffith found the handle on his Mr. Mudd, Signature Concrete Countertops machine and powered to the main event win. Cecil Miles brought his entry home second with Ronn McClimans third.
Zach Rydalch outdueled Christopher Morebach to take home the night’s Budweiser Bombers feature.
Magic Valley Speedway takes the Labor Day weekend off but returns strong with Fast Lane Automotive Night at the Races on September 7. The NASCAR Trucks and Pepsi Mini Stocks settle their seasons, while the Western Mountain Inc. NASCAR Latemodels, Magic Valley Speedway Midgets, McDonald’s Street Stocks, and Budweiser Bombers chase victories in this late season showdown.
