Action Picking Back Up In Weekly Classes

Thursday & Saturday Races To Entertain Fans

Race fans at Macon Speedway have been treated to some great racing as of late and that won't change this weekend.  Not only will the track be hosting the 35th running of the Herald & Review 100 for the Summer Nationals Hell Tour on Thursday, the track will open right back up on Saturday for a full six division program.

The Thursday, July 9 show will feature three classes of racing.  The UMP Dirtcar Late Models will be on hand running 100 laps for the Summer Nationals Hell Tour.  The race will also double up as an event on the Midwest Big Ten Late Model schedule.  The Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals will pair up with the Late Models for a big event, as well.  Rounding out Thursday's program will be the B-Mods, who have had a long layoff on the Macon schedule with all of the recent special events.

The Saturday, July 11 program will see an action packed evening with six divisions of racing.  In addition to the Midwest Big Ten Pro Late Models, the Sportsman will be back in action running a Topless 40, paying $600 to win.  The Billingsley Towing Modifieds, B-Mods, Street Stocks, and Hornets will also compete.  The night will also feature half price admission for ladies at just $6 for Bud Light Ladies Night.

The current championship standing leaders in the regular Macon divisions include Tommy Sheppard, Jr. (Berlin, IL) in the Pro Late Models, Rodney Standerfer (Germantown, IL) in the Billingsley Towing Modifieds, James Farley, Jr. (Springfield, IL) in the B-Mod class, Timmy Dick (Monticello, IL) Sportsman, Terry Reed (Decatur, IL) in the Street Stocks, and Adam Webb (Decatur, IL) in the Hornets.

On Thursday, July 9, pit gates will open at 3:00, grandstands at 4:00, hotlaps at 6:00, and racing will begin at 7:00.  Grandstand admission will be $25 for adults and children 11 and under are $5.

Saturday, July 11 festivities start with pits opening at 4:00, grandstands at 5:00, hotlaps beginning at 6:00 when the pill draw ends, and racing takes the green at 7:00.  Admission for Saturday's events will be $12 for adults and free for children 11 and under.  It will also be Bud Light Ladies night, where ladies get in for 1/2 price.
