Chick Maneuvers to Top-10 Finish During Season-Opening Event

Inside Line Promotions – LEBANON, Mo. (June 3, 2020) – Mandy Chick kicked the 2020 season off by charging forward to earn a top-10 finish at her home track of Lebanon I-44 Speedway on Saturday during the Lucas Oil Show Me State Showdown.

“It was a good weekend for us to start the season,” she said. “We’re contending for the points championship again this year so to be able to come right out the gate and score a top-10 finish gives us momentum moving into the rest of the season.”

On Friday and for most of Saturday, Chick carried speed throughout the practice sessions for the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour season opener. She clocked in around 10th quickest on the speed chart for most of the sessions as they prepared for qualifying trim.

Saturday was race day and Chick qualified 17th quickest for the 100-lap feature. She made gains while racing with tough competition like Bubba Pollard, Carson Hocevar, Travis Braden and many other top-notch competitors in the late model scene. Chick methodically worked into the top 10 and settled for a 10th-place result once the checkered flag was waved. Her seven positions gained were the third most of the drivers competing.

“I’m very happy with our race this weekend because we showed that we were competitive with some of the big names and we were one of the top Tour drivers in the field, which sets us up to hopefully be first in the point standings going into the next race,” she said.

Chick’s next JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour race will be on June 13 at Anderson Speedway in Anderson, Ind.

“I’m excited to get back to Anderson Speedway,” she said. “The high banks and driving style makes it my type of track. We’ve got some time to prepare both cars and get ready for that weekend to see what we can do there this year.”
