Fourth-place finish in Ultimate stop at Lancaster

Ross Bailes was one of 17 Ultimate Southeast Series entries on hand at Laurens County Speedway (Laurens, S.C.) on Friday evening for the Ronnie Brookshire Memorial. With time trials setting the grid for the $4,014-to-win A-Main, Bailes laid down the sixth fastest time in his group. Running into trouble early in the 40-lap affair, Bailes was the fifth retiree of the race on the eighth lap.

The following night at Lancaster Motor Speedway (Lancaster, S.C.), Bailes locked into the fifth-starting position for the A-Main via his qualifying effort. Improving one spot in the 40-lap affair, Ross notched a fourth-place finish, trailing Cla Knight, Ben Watkins and Jeff Smith to the checkers with Kenny Collins coming in fifth.
