For the 24-year old Rice, a second-generation racer, it would be his third series win of the season and his ninth career Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series victory and would come behind the wheel of a Rocket Chassis with a Jay Dickens Race Engine with sponsorship from Sunesis Holdings and Construction, BLOX Spiked Ice, Extreme Sportswear, Map It Right Engineering and Land Surveying, Chain Locker USA, Maxwell Trucking, AirMax Motorsports, and Northern Kentucky Equipment.

Outside polesitter Michael Chilton would grab the lead at the start of Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Northern/Southern Series Hall of Fame 40 main event, with Josh Rice, Jadon Frame, Camaron Marlar, and Ricky Weiss giving chase. Weiss would take fourth from Marlar on lap three, while Chilton and Rice would set a torrid pace at the front and would begin working slower traffic by lap nine. Rice would close in and make his move for the lead and take the top spot on lap twelve, while Weiss would close in on Frame for third and take that positon on lap fifteen. Rice would maintain the lead over Chilton and the front duo weaved their way in and out of lapped traffic as the race reached its halfway point, with Marlar taking fourth from Frame as the field saw the halfway signal. Rice would begin to really flex his muscles at this point and at times would open up an almost four second lead over Chilton. Will Roland would start going at this point as well and would make his way into the fifth position lap twenty-eight. Rice would continue to put distance on the field and would lap up to the fifth place machine of Roland as the checkered flag would wave for Rice, with Chilton and Weiss taking second and third, while Marlar and Roland completed the top five. The remainder of the top ten finishers would be Frame, Stormy Scott, Adam Ahl, Josh Deitz, and Heath Hindman.

In Brucebilt Performance Parts Iron-Man Open Wheel Modified Southern Series action, outside polesitter Bryan Barber would take the lead at the start of the event, with Blake Brown, Peyton Harlow, Ben Harmon, and Jacob Hall in pursuit. The first of three cautions waved on lap eight when Ronnie Bryant would slow on the track and on the restart, the front five would remain the same. Brown would slip high in turn two on lap nine and Harlow would work past Brown for the runner-up position. A spin by Tim Patrick in turn four on lap fourteen would draw the second caution and the front five would remain the same once again on the restart, with Barber still in command of the field. The final caution waved on lap eighteen when third-place running Brown would slow a flat tire and pull his entry pitside for the rest of the event. Barber would control the final few circuits and take the victory, with Harlow and Harmon taking second and third, while Hall and Richie Overholser would round out the top five. Completing the top ten finishers would be Marcus Griffith, Joe Husband, Sarah Patrick, Tim Patrick, and John Kidwell.
