Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series Adds Event at North Alabama August 11; Purse Increase at Lake Cumberland Speedway October 1

SOMERSET, KENTUCKY (March 11, 2022)- The Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series is pleased to announce the addition of one more event and a purse increase for another event on its 2022 race schedules.

The additional date has been added the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series schedule on Thursday August 11 at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL as Lazarius Decatur and Chelsie Riddle will promote the event that will see the tour make its first ever visit to the track, with the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Southern Series competitors racing for $5,000 to win and $450 to start on Thursday August 11. This will now make for a tripleheader weekend of racing for the tour, starting at North Alabama Speedway on Thursday August 11 ($5,000 to win), Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, TN on Friday August 12 ($5,000 to win), and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL on Saturday August 13 ($10,000 to win).

The purse increase the tour would like to announce is the 27th Annual Lake Cumberland Classic at Lake Cumberland Speedway in Burnside, KY on Saturday October 1, that will see both the Northern and Southern divisions of the Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series in action, will now pay $10,000 to win and $500 to start as SPEDA (Somerset-Pulaski Economic Development Authority) will now be the presenting sponsor of the long-time running event at the Brandon Hardgrove-promoted facility located just minutes from beautiful Lake Cumberland.
