Wade Goodale Goes To Victory Lane At Lincoln Park Speedway
The MSCS brought a huge 47 car sprint car field for the LPS opener since their first 3 races got rained out. The 5 heat races were won by Brayden Fox, Evan Mosley, Kyle Cummins, Jake Swanson and Shane Cottle. The B main was won by Alec Sipes. The main event was led early by the 74 Shane Cottle. He was strong on the bottom but he could not hold off Kyle Cummins from the top spot. Jake Swanson would also be in the mix up on the cushion and had a great battle with Shane for the 2nd spot. These 3 for much of the last half of the feature would be turning some very fast laps and it appeared the top cushion was where to be. Jake could not get close enough to try the famous slide job at LPS but these 3 and the whole field put on an amazing show. Kyle Cummins would go on to win the $2500 A main followed by Jake Swanson, Shane Cottle, Evan Mosley and Chase Stockon rounding out the top 5. Thanks to all of the 47 great sprint car teams for filling up the pits at LPS on a day when finally we saw the sunshine!!
The MMSA group brought 33 mini sprints to LPS Saturday for an outstanding show. The 4 heat races were won by Kayla Roell, Michael Larrison, Brandon Deputy and Sam Hinds. Bryan Brewer won the A main over Brad Strunk and Aydn Schmidt. This is an outstanding group and they will be back with us June 10th at Bloomington and June 11th at LPS for a weekend doubleheader.
The UMP Super Stocks had 20 entries with the fastest in each group going to Justin Massie(16.229), Josh Boller(16.028) and Larry Raines(16.204). The heat races were won by Travis Heramb, Josh Boller and Wade Goodale. This would setup the main event with an invert of 5 putting Bryce Shidler and Justin Massie on the front row. It would be a great 20 lap battle with Justin and Bryce looking strong early in the race. With about 10 to go Wade Goodale came from 3rd to take the lead on the bottom in turn 4 and he would stay smooth on the bottom and hold on for his first victory. Following him at the checkers was Bryce Shidler, Josh Boller, Justin Massie and Larry Raines.
The UMP Mods had 20 entries also Saturday night with the fastest in each group being Jeff Deckard(16.149), Rob Brickert (15.627) and Will Bennett(15.840). The 3 heat races were won by Tyler Loughmiller, Richie Lex and Andy Sherley. The invert for the A main was a 4 which put Jimmy Hayden on the pole for the feature. For the first 5 laps Jimmy and Tyler had an intense battle for the top spot. As we have seen in previous weeks though the yellow 22 was up high on the cushion and sure enough even though Will started in 6th he took over the top spot about half way through and would win another A main in convincing fashion. Following Will Bennett at the finish was Tyler Loughmiller, Rob Brickert, Jimmy Hayden and Jake Leitzman.
The Bombers had 17 entries and qualifying was led by Tyler Rodgers(16.758) and Andrew Pollock(16.789). The 2 heat races were won by Jeremy Tate and Jordan Almanza. This would setup the A main with an invert of 3 putting Tyler Rodgers on the pole. Tyler would lead early after Jordan had to pull off early in the race. Joey Raber had a strong run off of turn 2 early in the A and took the top spot away from Tyler and built a good lead for a strong win in the 15 lap A main. Following Joey at the finish was Megan Cavaness, Corey Anstead, Andrew Pollock and Josh Foxworthy. Another outstanding night at LPS. Thanks to all the fans and teams that came out to celebrate the Memorial weekend. Don’t forget the Indiana Late Model Series will be at LPS next Saturday June 4th and it is also our Fan Remembrance Race where we remember all of our great fans!! Friday night also we kick off Indiana Midget Week down at the Bloomington Speedway!! Should be another great weekend of action coming up!
