D. Cronk And Tanner Get Friday Night Willamette Wins

Lebanon, Oregon- With the Wild West Modified Shootout in town two classes were on the card as the support divisions. Ten Super Sports and seven IMCA Stock Cars were in attendance. Both main events would be entertaining for the crowd at hand.
In the Super Sports Joey Tanner went to the front on lap one. Tanner, of Portland and racing for his father Jody, held onto to the top spot until getting passed on lap ten. Jeremy Shank, from Salem and running for B.J. Donofrio, would take over first place but unfortunately suffered mechanical issues on lap nineteen forcing a premature retirement. Joey Tanner would get the position back and went on to win the main event.
Lebanon’s McLain Beaudoin was second over Doug Elkins, from Salem, in third. Randy Barley, of Albany, crossed the wire in fourth while Scott Mills chauffeur Vahn Stone placed fifth.
In the IMCA Stock Cars there would be four lead changes within the first six laps. Donald Schott and David Cronk would go back and fourth for several circuits with neither driver showing a real advantage. Finally, on lap seven Cronk managed to pull away and dominated the rest of the main event. It was the first win of the season for the Portland veteran racer.
Spokane, Washington’s Ron Brewster finished second over Brian Cronk, of Portland, in third. Albany driver Dakota Godard placed fourth with Donald Schott, from Happy Valley, behind him in fifth.
Both the Super Sports and IMCA Stock Cars return as support classes on Saturday, June 30th. Pit Gates open at 1:00 PM, Front Gates 3:30, and Racing at 6:00. Tickets are Adults $16.00, Junior/Military/Seniors $14.00, Youth $10.00, Kids 5 & Under FREE, and the Family Pass is $55.00. Tickets can be purchased online at www.pnwdirtracing.com .
