Willamette Speedway Closes Out Wild West Modified Shootout Friday June 29th And Saturday The 30th; FinishLine Graphics Driver Appreciation Party Thursday Night

Lebanon, Oregon- For the second consecutive year, and fourth time overall, Willamette Speedway will have the honor of closing out the Wild West Modified Shootout. In fact, the historic 1/3-mile clay oval has crowned the champion on the front stretch three of the last four years (2016 the series wrapped thing up at Elma, Washington’s Grays Harbor Raceway). Last year was a three-night affair while this year things will be settled on Friday, June 29th and Saturday, the 30th. Saturday will be capped off with a massive fireworks display.
Before the engines roar though the fine folks at FinishLine Graphics will be hosting a Driver Appreciation Party at Willamette Speedway starting around 6:00 PM. They will have food courtesy of Pit Cart BBQ, music, a corn hole tournament, and more. It is FREE for drivers, crew members, track/series officials, and even fans to attend. However, the party will not be providing drinks so be sure to bring your own.
In other news FinshLine Graphics and Speed Shift TV have teamed up for the Pass Master Bonus. This award will go to the driver that passes the most cars during the 2018 Wild West Modified Shootout. $2.00 stickers will be on sale at the series souvenir trailer as well as online at www.finishline.graphics/wild-west-modified-speedweek with every single dollar going towards the award.
Willamette Speedway has hosted the most Wild West Modified Shootout races, at eleven, and has been apart of every single season. They have completed all but one show, back in 2016, which fell to rain just before the start of the main event. Alex Stanford has the most Willamette wins, at four, all of which were won consecutively. Everyone else has parked it in the winner’s circle once including Brian Poppa, Ken Schrader, Collen Winebarger, Ethan Dotson, Wade Taylor, and Jesse Williamson. For Winebarger and Taylor it is their one and only career WWMS wins.
In 2018 local IMCA Modified action Collen Winebarger has reigned supreme. Winebarger has four trips to victory lane. However, Dustin Cady has won the last two straight. John Campos and Bricen James have one each to their credit.
Both nights the Pit Gates open at 1:00 PM, Front Gates 3:30, and Racing at 6:00. Friday tickets are $14.00 for Adults, Junior/Military/Senior $10.00, Youth (6-12) $5.00, 5 and Under FREE, and a Family Pass (2 Adults and up to 4 Youths) $35.00. Saturday prices are Adults $16.00, Junior/Military/Seniors $14.00, Youth $10.00, Kids 5 & Under FREE, and the Family Pass is $55.00. Tickets can be purchased online at www.pnwdirtracing.com . As has been the case for the last two Wild West Modified Shootouts the fine folks at Speed Shift TV will be providing live lap-to-lap coverage of every single round. Be sure and stay tuned to the Wild West Modified Shootout Facebook page for the latest news and updates.
