The RollingThunder Big Rig Series made a stop at Willamette Speedway Saturday night. A full house watched the big rigs and Street Stocks provide a great show on a very fast racing surface. Horsepower was the name of the game and there was plenty to go around.

Rick Casebolt drove his Seattle Seahawks themed rig to Victory Lane after a hard core duel with Dustin Smith. Smith pressed Casebolt lap after lap and even stole the lead for a short time but couldn't hold off Casebolt who used the high groove to claim the feature and the hardware.

In Victory Lane Casebolt exited his truck and yelled "Who wants to go fast!" When asked if he knew just how close it was at the line going under the checkered flag, he said "Yeah, I knew Smith was there I could feel him pushing me with his bumper, but I knew that meant he was behind me and I had this one".

In the Street Stock division a full field of twenty drivers took the green flag and the action was intense and nonstop for the fans. Justin Evans led the first part of the feature in his Ford powered Mercury Cougar. Evans looked strong until transmission issues ended his night early.

From there Andrew Langan, Chris Sine, Kevin Roberts and Mark Gaylord had a heated battle that had the fans on their feet. The four drivers would bump and grind in the middle to late stages and late arrival Tony Brakeall added his daughters number thirteen Camaro in the mix after driving to third from the twentieth starting position.

Brakeall who has his race shop just few blocks from the track actually drove the racecar to the track. His night ended just past the halfway point after contact in a side by side battle with Gaylord. The drivers touched and Brakeall got into the wall and knocked the tow out "about three inches" he said.

After the caution Langan and Sine continued to push each other to limit. The two drivers would test each other and swap the lead a couple of times. In the end Langan snuck by Sine in last few laps and held him off to claim his first feature of the 2016 season at Willamette Speedway.

Both Langan and Sine were all smiles on the front stretch for interviews and both said "That is what racing is all about and the kind of race you can hope to have with great competition".

This Saturday Willamette Speedway hosts the Strawberry Cup. Historically one of the biggest and most prestigious events on the tracks schedule. All drivers mark the Strawberry Cup as one of the can't miss events. You can bet the pits and stands will be filled and the competition will be stout.

Front gates open at 3:30, qualifying is slated to start at 4:30 and racing at 6:30. For more information on pricing and season schedule please visit www.trophymotorsports.com. This weekends Strawberry Cup is guaranteed to give fans all the action and excitement they can handle.
