Armed Forces Night This Saturday!

This Saturday, May 21st at Willamette Speedway we will be honoring the men and women who are currently serving or who have served this great country by offering $5 grandstand admission for all Military! Classes in action include Super Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Super Sports, Sportsman, and Hornets. And since last weekend we experienced a rain out these racers are chomping at the bit to get back behind the wheel!

Currently leading the Super Late Model division in points is Rob Mayea. He has landed himself 1 first place and 2 second place finishes for the 2016 race season so far. But we have also seen 1 first place finish and 1 second place finish from an eager Joey Tanner, driving the 67 car of Dave Walters. With that said it does sound like the number 111 will be returning to dirt oval soon though!

In the IMCA Modifieds, Superman, Collen Winebarger, who is no stranger to this division, is currently leading in points. With 1 first place finish, 1 second, and 1 fourth. The question is will he continue this momentum through the season and retain his title as Track Champion for this division? Only time will tell. Especially with Brett James who is hot on his tail with a 9 point gap. James has had two top five finishes and a 7th.

With a rain out back in April and the one last weekend the Super Sport Division has only had the opportunity to race twice this season. Car Number 13, Randy Barley, is leading the way in points. With 1 first finish and 1 second. Chad Slover, second in points, has finished within the top 5 each race. And third in points, Jerry Casey, has finished 5th and 8th so far this season.

Out of the Sportsman division there is a 3 point gap between first and second in points. Car Number 25, Chad Slover, is currently at 219 points for the season while Jeff Rash, Car Number 1, is sitting at 216. However, this division has also only seen two races for the season so there will definitely be some action to be had this Saturday.

And lets not forget about our Hornet division. Tracy Muse, Car Number 16, is kicking butt and taking names. He has 2 first place finishes and 1 second for this season with a combined total of 336 points. He is for sure leading the way for this division!

On Saturday the Pit Gate will open at 1:00pm, Front Gate will open at 3:30pm and Racing starting at 6:30pm. Tickets for this event are Adults $14, Junior/Senior $10, Youth $5, and children 5 and under are free. We also offer a Family Pass for 2 adults and up to 4 youths for $35.
