Lebanon, Oregon- Coos Bay teenager Preston Luckman has had a huge year in 2015 so far and it's only July. Luckman has only had half a dozen or so starts and has managed to crack off two wins and has posted numerous top five finishes, in only his second year in a Late Model. He will have a busy weekend starting off on Friday July 10th at Cottage Grove Speedway and then the Crocker's Cars Firecracker 100 at Willamette Speedway on Saturday the 11th.

“This year is going very well,” said Luckman, “so far I've done way better at Willamette and Cottage Grove then what I did last year. The car is still intact and has been hooked up from the get go.”

Preston wasn't able to race until late May due to his motor not being completely ready. Also adding to his amazing year is graduating from Marshfield High School in June. He has competed at Willamette twice including a fourth place result on May 23rd and on June 27th a seventh. The L-N-L Lumber Outlet/Quadel Industries/Q2I Archery/Les Schwab Tire Center #16P Rocket has two wins at Coos Bay Speedway. The first was against the Northwest Extreme Late Model Series on June 20th and again in local competition on June 30th.

“My goal is just to run the first fifty to sixty laps conservatively to save my tires,” he continued, “I want to try and make a really competitive charge in the last twenty or thirty laps for the lead.”

The winner Saturday night will receive at least $1,500.00 and the race will be $200.00 to start. The pay out is based on twenty cars but if for some reason less the twenty cars start that money will be added to the winner's prize money. Don't forget that a massive fireworks display will cap the whole night off.
Prices are Adults $16.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $13.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $8.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE. Racing is scheduled to get underway around 6:30 PM. Log on to www.trophymotorsports.com for more information regarding Willamette Speedway.
