Willamette Speedway would host some great racing on Saturday May 30th. In addition to the Northwest Extreme Late Model Series in the house there was also the Northwest Dwarf Cars against the Southern Oregon Dwarf Cars. Other divisions included the Super Sports, Sportsman, and Street Stocks.

The Dwarf Cars would have over twenty entries sign in on the registration sheets. They would all participate in the feature and would have a twenty-car invert meaning the fast guys had to come from the back if they wanted to win it. The Southern Oregon drivers would rise to the occasion as seventeenth starting Kalvin Morton, from Medford, took the lead. He would stay out in front and would pace the field in the caution plagued event to collect the victory in his Jim Nelson Racing/All Creatures Animal Hospital/Interstate Batteries/Charla's Family Barber Shop #18S entry.

The K1 Race Gear/O'Reilly's Auto Parts/C&C Tires #25S D&R of Camden Robustelli, out of Medford, got second while Albany's John Chrisman was third in his Jerry's Precision Muffler/Drager Performance/Sheeler Racing #88S M&M. The rest of the top five would consist of Fred Hay, of Eagle Point, in the Oregon Opportunities Real Estate/Advantage Tire/Brookside Inn & Suites/Goodlett Automotive #10S Pro, in fourth, and crossing the wire in fifth would be the Auto Truck Wholesale/St. John's Tire Factory/Van Raden Industries #9 M&M of Portland's Ryan Martinez.

Obtaining the lead early in the Super Sport main event Albany native Randy Barley would cruise right along. Barley, in his Dennis Automotive & Tires/Snap On Tools #13B Rayburn, kept his machine out in front of the field the rest of the way to collect his second win of 2015.

Salem's Gil Pickett would be second in the Pickett Custom Cabinets #82 Swartz followed by the Brownsville Calf Ranch #84 entry of Clay Debban hailing from Shedd. Fourth would go to Brian Smith, from Albany, in his Knothole Market/Pratnum Co-Op/Hanson Automotive Machine/James Gang Pizza #99 Rayburn, and in fifth was the Bubba Gump Company #77 Flintstone Flyer of James Slover.

Junction City's Sandy Sanders was the car to beat for a good portion of the Sportsman main event. The Royalty Homes #43 Avenger would lose the lead around the halfway mark after Crawfordsville chauffeur Tom Yeack made the pass for the position. Yeack, driving the Cascade Outdoor Power Equipment/Unlimited Business Service #49 Pro, would win his third race of the season which is the most wins any driver has managed to capture so far in the Sportsman class.

Kyle Yeack of Lebanon, doing double duty and Tom's son, was the runner-up in his Cascade Outdoor Power Equipment/Laura Gillot at Keller Williams Reality #47 Cutlass and crossing the line in third was Sandy Sanders. Coming home fourth would be the Aldrich Trucking/Betker Built Race Cars #101 BBR was Jefferson's Mike Betker while Lebanon driver Casey Rhoades was fifth in his Jolynn Moore-Desert Storm Gulf War Veterans With PTSD/A&J Convenience Store at Lebanon Shell Station/Omen Tattoo #55 Truck.

Another dominating performance would be put on display in the Street Stocks by Kyle Yeack. Yeack would set a rapid pace and have the field covered. Winning by half of a lap it would be the third straight victory for Kyle which ties him with Justin Evans for most wins of the 2015 campaign.

In second was Dallas' Bill Allison, in the Tim's Automotive/Dick Kludt Trucking #28 Malibu, while behind him in third would be the Doc's Photos/Ovarian Cancer Awareness #14J Camaro of Steve Jorgensen from Albany. Molalla's Shannon Horn was fourth in the Marson Transit/Marson Transports #13H Camaro and fifth belonged to the Northey Racing #55 of D.W. Northey of Walton.

Willamette Speedway will be in action for two nights of racing this coming weekend. Friday June 5th will be the second Kart race of the season while Saturday, the 6th, will be the historical Strawberry Cup presented by Napa Auto Parts.
