Willamette Speedway Returns To Action On Saturday June 28th With The Topless Showdown

Lebanon, Oregon- It’s that time of the year again where the rivets get popped and the tops come off at Willamette Speedway on Saturday June 28th for the annual Topless Showdown featuring the X-Factor Race Cars Super Late Models. Also on the card will be the Crocker’s Cars Super Sports, Albany & Eastern Railroad Sportsman, and 4-Cylinders. In addition to the race on Saturday a practice will be held the following evening on Friday the 27th.

Already 2014 has been an exciting season for the X-Factor Race Cars Super Late Models with Joey Tanner and Rob Mayea tied in the win column with two victories each. John Duty and Steve Moore are the only drivers who have won once. The winner of last year’s Topless Showdown was “Mr. Excitement” Russ Sell.

In the Crocker’s Cars Super Sports Bricen James has owned the division winning the last four consecutive features. Tim Archer and Gil Pickett are the only other main event winners with one win each. In Albany & Eastern Sportsman action both Brian Smith and Brian Winkler lead the win chart as both have won twice. Drivers credited with one win include Briley Pompe, Jeff Rash, Ron Berry, and Jeff Marson. In the 4-Cylinders Dale Holland has won all three races so far this year.

The Practice on Friday June 27th will start at 4:00 PM to Dusk. Pit Passes are $15.00 and the Car & Driver entry fee is $25.00. On Saturday the Pit Gates will open at 1:00 PM, the Pit Meeting will take place at 2:30, Front Gates open at 3:30, and Racing starts at 6:00. Tickets for this event are Adults $12.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $5.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE and a family pass will be offered for two Adults and up to four Youths for just $35.00.
