Lebanon, Oregon- The best IMCA Modified drivers in Oregon will converge on the Willamette Speedway for the IMCA 40 on Saturday August 10th. Also on hand Saturday will be the Super Sports, Sportsman, Street Stocks, and Mini Trucks. The racing weekend will officially start on Friday the 9th as the Karts get back to action.

The IMCA Modifieds of the Pacific Northwest have been extremely busy the last few weeks. First there was the Dancin Bare Topless 100 at Sunset Speedway Park in Banks, the Shipwreck Beads Northwest Modified Nationals at Gray Harbor Raceway in Elma, Washington, and last week was the Cottage Grove Speedway Modified Nationals at “The Grove”. Not to mention that on July 15th Willamette Speedway had a one-hundred lap IMCA Modified feature.

Now another big race is up on the schedule for these pilots as several of them revisit the legendary 1/3-mile clay oval. Already in local competition there have been twelve events with ten different winners. Monte Bischoff and Craig Cassell are the only two different repeat winners of the current season with two victories each. Drivers visiting victory lane just once include Jeffrey Rivers, Dustin Dittman, Kyle Yeack, Brody Pompe, Mark Carrell, Jesse Williamson, Alex Stanford, and Mark Wauge who won the one-hundred lap feature winner earlier this year. Will any of these drivers be in victory lane when the night is said and done or will we see a new winner emerge?

The Super Sports are back after a couple of weeks off. Teammates Bob Jeffrey and Gil Pickett each have scored a pair of wins after nine races in 2013 and they are tied for most trips to the winner’s circle by any driver. Steve Moore, Randy Barley, Clay Debban, Danny Altom, and Brian Smith all have recorded one triumph. Will we see any of these guys get another win or will we see a new face at the end of the night?

Todd Miller remains the most victorious driver this season in the Sportsman ranks at three victories. With his win last week Ron Berry joins Brian Smith as chauffeurs that have won twice while Phil Housworth, Brian Brown, Brian Goetz, Clyde Rood, and Jeff Marson have earned just one win. Will Smith or Berry manage to earn another triumph to match Miller in most wins this season?

David Cronk continues his dominance of the Street Stocks. Last Saturday he would pick up his sixth win of the season beating out Randy Jackson at the line in photo finish style. Bricen James is one of the only drivers to have beaten him which he has done on several occasions. James has four wins and both Justin Evans and Kevin Roberts have one each. Will Cronk win his seventh victory of the season Saturday or will there be a new winner among the Street Stock drivers?

The Mini Trucks are still under the reign of the “Prineville Posse”. Don Croy has won the most races so far in the division with an impressive seven wins in nine races. His teammate Kenny Keefer has achieved two wins. Can Keefer or anyone else and rise to the occasion to beat Croy?

General admission to the Friday Kart race event will be FREE of charge. Pit Passes are $10.00 and Car and Driver fees will be $40.00. The pit gates open up around 4:00 PM and racing is scheduled to begin around 6:45.

Saturday the pit gates will open at 1:00 PM, front gates 3:30 PM, and racing should be getting started around 6:00 PM. Admission prices are Adults $14.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $12.00, Youths (12 and Under) $6.00, Family Pass (Two Adults and Up To Four Youths) $35.00, and Pit Passes are $25.00.

The Willamette Speedway has operated since the 1960’s and is a facility where high car counts and great racing are the norm. The venue will hosts weekly action comprising of DIRTcar Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Sportsman, Super Sports, Street Stocks, and Mini Trucks.
